Game of Thrones - HBO part 2 - Part 2

I don't recall those parts exactly but I never thought of it as anything more than gossip. As I said, I always thought of Stannis as Ned without compassion since I don't believe Jon is his bastard son. They both care about their honor and justice more than anything. Stannis is willing to do what it takes though which is why he's still alive.

He's also described as a prude and has such a cold personality, he almost comes across as asexual, really only doing it to have an heir. The show has tried to rationalize it that his wife hasn't given him a child and they both dislike each other. But in the book, his wife is the one who introduces him to Mel and the religion and her family, House Florent, is one of the most powerful in The Reach.

I also thought that Mel was manipulating Stannis in some way, it just doesn't seem as believable if they're having sex.

DA said it better than I. The books do "implicate" Mel and Stannis spending too much time alone together.

I agree they have to be careful with how they portray Stannis.

I just got HBO Go so now I can start catching Game of Thrones legitimately. It's also really ****ing cool having HBO Go on my Droid. I can watch Game of Thrones anytime, anywhere.

The awkward moment of 2012 goes to Yara and Theron in Game of Thrones. lol

I was surprised to see a black character on the show.

At least he's more interesting than T-Dawg from TWD.

Loved the part where Tyrion ask his new commander if he'd kill a baby and he flat out admitted he would for the right price. Tyrion just realized how pointless it was to try and install more noble and honorable men. Everyone is a snake and backstabber at that level.

It's kind of hard to gage how big the setting is going by the show. But apparently Westeros is the size of South America. So, on a setting that large, you'd probably run into some diverse ethnicities.

Are you talking about the black pirate dude who was also in the Vampires in Venice Doctor Who episodes.

I though I saw some black folks in the background in Khal Drogo land.

Black British actor Nonso Anozie from The Grey, RocknRolla and Brighton Rock is playing a Merchant Prince on the show. I have heard his character was white in the books apperantly.

Westeros is way larger. From my reading it's Europe/Asia all in one. It's the dominant continent, taking up almost half the planet. But as with any country it size it had other ethic groups.

Plus there are other countries with other races ... and people do move.

omg, theres a black person on this show....lol. Was shocked to see that. "Im not going to rape her. Im gonna F her" Line of the episode...lol

Not surpised that Joffrey had the bastards killed. I called it. He is pretty rotten. Too ad he wasnt in this episode.

How great are Arya and Gendry? Their interactions was my favorite this episode

I didnt realize Theon came from an important father. I thought he was like an orphan that got taken in by Ned. Why was he with Ned's family and not raised by his father?

When Stannis was with the red headed woman, she entices him by saying she can give him a son, a king. He then gets all excited and screws her by the prospect of producing one. Um, but what does it even matter? Any kid she has will be a bastard and hence not a king or rightful heir to his throne? She's good for a screw, but not continuing his bloodline

Westeros tends to be like Europe... Irish, English, Danish, etc

While the lands across the Narrow Sea are more diverse.. Middle Eastern, African,Asian, Darker skins.

Someone had mentioned Dorne being Asian influenced, but I imagined them as more like Spain.

Theon is a royal hostage. His being borded at Winterfell ensures a relationship between the North and The Iron Islands. It was common practise in Europe for quite a while.

Remeber, Ned, Robert also grew up together in such a situation and look how they ended up as great friends. One of the Lannister kids eventually gets boreded out to Dorne too.

If Stannis and Mel produce a son he won't be a bastard. Remember, he's trying to establish a new reign. Its not a continuation of Robert's, it will be his. He can make anyone his queen he wishes and thus legitimize the child.

Yeah, I always imagined Dorne as clearly a desert inhabited by Spaniard-types. The Red Viper certainly gave off that vibe for me.

My God,that ****e Theon was givin the business to on that boat was prob the most hideous person on the show so far.

I thought Stannis had a wife. I thought that was who they were referring to when they were discussing the woman who only bore him daughters

Stannis does have a wife. She was even seen briefly at the ceremony in the last episode.

Yeah, she was goofy-lookin'. And by that, I mean she literally looked like Goofy with banana boobs.

While I liked the change regarding Jon following Craster at the end, I have one problem with it: Ghost. Where the hell was he? I know he runs off a lot in the book, but the direwolves are supposed to be around whenever their owners are in danger.

He does, and she's a real pain in the ass. But a man has urges and Mel's dress had come undone somehow! :cmad:

Wife said that the girl look like she might have had some mental ******ation. Then she proclaimed her **** looked bad heh

Yes, Stanni's daughter is ******ed and has a huge wine stain birthmark on her face ... or she does in the books. Still haven't seen these first 2, family6 still in town.

LOL, Theon is such a dick.

But his sister... is she a little f**ed in the head or something? She KNEW he was her brother and she still let him feel her up.

I think that was the point, I think she wanted to embarrass him.
