Was this filmed in IMAX? Or post-converted?

Post converted of course. It would've been announced early on if it was shot in IMAX format.

Yeah I liked it. If I had to rank them I'd day 1,4,3,5,2
I like the second one lol. Third one was good, 4th one was okay, but wasn't the same as the others. I'm glad this one is rated R though. I hope it was filmed that way, and not edited to be an R film.

I can't wait to see this though. I'll take my dad to see this, him, and I always liked Willis, and these movies.

I like Willis as an action man, but I'm not really feeling this one. I may catch it on a day where I need to kill some time.

Say whaaat?

Die Hard 2 is an uninspired rehash of the first film. The third took it to a new level and made it fresh. It's what the second should have been.

The third is fantastic. It's only real problem is its weak ending.

I tend to rank them 1, 3, 4, 2.

Yeah, the finale was rather weak compared to the strength of the rest of the film. Simon could have gone in a cooler way. It felt almost like a sudden rewrite.

That's my ranking too. Despite being PG-13, the fourth still did capture McClane's attitude very well. Now Olyphant was an okay villain but at least they didn't need three like the second film.

The ending to Die Hard with a Vengeance was a re-write as they filmed a quieter, cooler ending but the studio felt it made McClane look too vindictive so it was scrapped and the crappy shoot the helicopter ending was shot to replace it.

I just think the idea of taking over an airport is really cool. Yea it's the same old "Wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time" but I just love it. The plane blowing up full of innocent ppl. Love it. 3 just felt to hard to try and make John seem like he was just a low life washed up never was idk I didn't like McClain in the 3rd one. And in the 3rd one he was only saving his life(and the money after he finds out they stole it,oops spoiler) 2nd kept him wanting to save a loved one same with number 4

Die Hard and Die Hard With a Vengeance are easily the best of the bunch, imo. The ending of the 3rd one never really bothered me.

Yeah, the Die Hard 3 ending never bothered me either. No matter how haphazard it may have felt, Zeus' commentary made it fun.

The girl who is stripping is one of the main bad guys. She plays a highly trained kick ass assassin who apparently gives the McClane boys a really hard time... nearly beats really badly up, and then also shoots them both from a helicopter (but they manage to destroy it and she dies in the ensuing crash) according to the script

Yeah, the alternate ending is on youtube.

Just watched that ending.

Yeah, I can see why it wasn't kept. Even though it does fit with the theme of "vengeance", it's way too out of character for John. He almost seems a little too insane. Cruel, even. He would never kill someone like that unless he had a reason for it (i.e.-- killing Hans Gruber at the end of Die Hard, because Hans was going to kill Holly).

Also, the tone and pacing of that scene kind of clashes with the rest of the film. It feels more like something you would see in a European arthouse film rather than a Summer blockbuster.

Still a great scene, though. Both Jeremy Irons and Bruce Willis give really great performances.

I did like how the last one didn't have him pull punches when he fought Maggie Q.

Die Hard's Facebook page just announced a marathon, featuring all prior movies, will be screened on February 13th, including the latest film. Participating theaters and times are to be announced on January 17th. :awesome:
