We Hate Everything About Everything

I hate that I wasn't born during alcohol prohibition.

I hate that alcohol isn't banned now.

Are you serious? :whatever:

I hate hypocrites; like the kind who go on and on about how marijuana should be legal and how much they love using it recreationally and why are people who use it stigmatized and blah blah blah, and then get all self-righteous and judgemental about whatever recreational activity they DON'T do… in this case, drinking alcohol.

Well, you know what, I don't smoke marijuana anymore. But how would you like it if I went on my soapbox about it, bashing it and people who use it?

This has made me thirsty. I'm going to have a beer. :o

I hate that amidst all this drama with lawyers that I completely forgotten about the Hype Awards.

I don't think I've ever followed those awards.

I hate that I don't have a working computer so I can't follow the hype like I used to. It's a pain in the arse to type on the phone

I hate how ripped off I feel right now. I bought a wallet case for my phone and paid $20 for it. The case has no pouch for my debit/credit cards or bills and there's no casing, instead it wants me to use an adhesive pad to glue the back of my phone to it. I'm about to email Expansys and ask for a refund.

Caveat Emptour, LiLo. :o

It's EMPTOR! Don't you be using Latin on a law student. :o

I've learned to cope with it by keeping my old wallet case (at least IT HAS POUCHES). The casing is coming unglued which is why I purchased this one. I know I should probably take out the casing from the wallet that's falling apart from that case and put it into this one, but that wouldn't solve my lack of pouches for my debit card and bills. As of now it's just a fancy flip case.

Welp. hope you get a speedy refund or replacement for it, dudette. :yay:

Expansys sounds like a swinger's club. Can a brotha get an invite?

Anyone can join as long as they got a credit card.

Excluding American Express.

I just got totally screwed by one of my grad-school professors. I've been working my ass off this semester and was headed for an A, but he gave me a low score on my final assignment (which was weighed very heavily). I got worried and asked him if this will bring my score down, and he reassured me I was still track for an A. The other classes I got A's in, so I was proud and told my parents I nailed the 4.0 GPA. Yet, today I get my transcripts and I see he gave me an A-, which brought me down to a 3.85. It's not the grade I have the issue with (well, mostly...), it's the fact he gave me false assurances. I find that pretty messed up. The grades were all in already, so why would he tell me I got a higher grade than I did? Ugh....

I hate how a girl on my Facebook is pregnant again. She's a single parent with two kids and so emotionally unstable that all of her relationships end horribly because she talks about marriage after a month.

I hate even more that people tell her children are a blessing and that she's a great mom. Great moms don't have unprotected sex with one night stands. And if children were such a blessing, she would focus her attention on raising the two she has instead of sleeping around.

...how did he screw you, though? Sure, you told your parents you were getting a 4.0, but was there some financial incentive there?

In your field (am I remembering correctly that you're specializing in education?), how much does GPA really matter re: jobs?

I guess "screw" is a bit much, but why'd he say I got an A, after he had already submitted a grade of A-. There is a difference.

Yes, I'm in education. As a teacher myself, I like to be honest with my students. He should have just been straight with me.

I'd like to do my PhD after, so I'm trying to graduate with a GPA above 3.7, so every grade counts.

A guy I knew summed up nonsense like this a few years back. He said that people who should have kids normally don't, and the people who shouldn't have them bear way more than they need.

Thus we became a welfare state. Thanks 'Murica.

Ah, I see! It honestly sounds like an oversight on his part. I doubt he was being dishonest, unless he was simply trying to avoid a confrontation.

In any case, I ask about the GPA because some careers/specializations (mine included) put less emphasis on graduate-level GPA than on things like publications, extracurricular work, etc. That can go a long way in lieu of amazing grades.

Here's hoping this is just a small speed-bump for you.

I kinda hate that a friend of mine keeps messaging me chain letters on Facebook, despite me telling her repeatedly that I don't do those.

I hate that the women I'm most interested in are either married or live thousands of miles away. :csad:

I guess I just want what I can't have?

I hate that I had to fail three students this semester (and delay their graduation), but I also hate that they refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. I caught one of them plagiarizing/cheating TWICE. He's lucky his ass wasn't thrown out of the University.

I also hate that this University has such low standards and encourages us to pass students just to push them through. No, **** you; a degree should MEAN something.
