I love how they did the worms, though I did notice a distinct change from the books: the worm teeth are used by the Fremen as hand blades, as is. The teeth we see here are massively long, making them better used as swords, long ones at that. Still, the worms really do look great.

Dark? I hardly think it was too much so. It seemed to follow the tone of the book, which didn't have a single moment of levity. As far as females: Lady Jessica, Chani, the Mother Reverend. They did a good job, though maybe a bit more of the new Liet Kynes.

Even the melange looked good. I could almost taste and smell it.

By footage, do you mean the teaser-trailer, or something more? I have a personal acquaintance with someone that works on this film (who I saw wearing a crew shirt a couple of months ago, at which time I went f****n ape-s**t). I've been begging this person to show me something, to no avail...

I finally saw the teaser footage online. It is out there on a few sites now. Definitely more interesting to watch than the stills, though I agree that there is not much more else to see. 7 days to the full trailer release! Well, maybe...

Since DV has already said that they spent an entire year working on the worm design, I am confident will we see both worm sign and worm.
