I see where the Marvel comparisons come from, it has a militaristic aesthetic and tons of those lines. I think it's pretty obvious that Gunn and Judianna applied the same MCU design philosophy for this suit, for better or worse.

My best guess is that Gunn wanted a suit that was distinctively "his", not just a replica of the classic suit. Is "his" suit good? Jury is still out on that.

People have already mentioned, myself included, of Gunn having balls for not doing what most people expected of the suit, but I also have to wonder if that will be worth it, when this movie should be as controversy-free as humanly possible.

With all said, I do respect Gunn for doing his own thing with the suit, for better or worse. He could have easily done a standard classic Superman suit to avoid controversy, but he stuck to his guns, which I can admire.

Regardless of my thoughts on the suit, I'm nonetheless baffled by the choices on the picture itself, Why set it in a dark room at night? You could have a "Superman is just like us" moment in daylight, you know?

I always knew that people who were expecting a 1:1 classic spandex suit were setting themselves up for disappointment, but this is still far more... bold than I thought it would be.

I know Gunn is obsessed with always working with the same team, but I really wish he had gotten a different costume designer for this. Her superhero suits are all very same-y, it's obvious that they're all designed by the same person, and the Superman suit is no exception. Very similar...

At this point, I wouldn't even be surprised if Gunn is confident enough on the suit that he's willing to let it leak.

Been on the Elizabeth as Maggie train since Gunn was announced. It's high time we have a living and breathing Metropolis in a Superman movie.

They'll start filming on location in June, so I have to imagine that the first look will be out already. Maybe a teaser, though.

At this point, I really think that Gunn is only gonna drop it the day before they start location shooting. I'd loooooove to be proven wrong, however.
