I hope this film is like a prelude to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

I haven't seen the leaks so no clue if he looks similar in Loki. But I hope he looks more comic book accurate

As someone who is not too familiar with Kang's history in the comics, I have been thinking about how the writers might bring the conflict with Kang to a satisfying conclusion. One idea that I think could work well is drawing inspiration from the TV series DARK, which also deals with complex issues of time, causality, and the consequences of meddling with history.

In DARK, the characters discover the existence of an origin timeline that serves as the source of all other timelines. Without giving away any spoilers, this concept is used in a very interesting and thought-provoking way to bring the story to a close.

I think it would be fascinating if the MCU writers took a similar approach with Kang, revealing the existence of an origin timeline that is the source of all other timelines. This could provide a way for the heroes to break free from the cycle of cause and effect that Kang is perpetuating, and find a solution to the problem that doesn't involve endless time travel or fighting Kang indefinitely.

Of course, there are many different ways that the writers could approach this challenge, but I think the idea of discovering an origin timeline has a lot of potential to create an engaging and thought-provoking story. It would allow the writers to explore the ethical dilemmas of time travel and causality, as well as the complex relationships between the characters as they try to work together to save the multiverse. Overall, I'm really excited to see how the MCU writers will bring the conflict with Kang to a close, and I think drawing inspiration from DARK could be a great way to do it.

Though he was the star of the movie, sometimes his acting was a little too much and overacted…like in Loki

Jonathan gave a powerful performance as Kang, he definitely elevated the story. I can't wait to see what next . The teaser at the end with council of Kangs leaves me with Excitement and wonder.

What I liked about Jonathan’ portrayal was more subtle, he play multiple roles in his characterization. We saw his forms of manipulation with each character he interacts with. He plays it sly and innocent by using techniques of temptation to get his way. Very different than that of “He who remains” in Loki.

In other news, The Conqueror is making his debut at Avengers Campus

Majors was great in the role but I found He Who Remains to be a much more compelling character than Kang.

Majors was by far the best aspect of the film.

Can't wait to see more of Kang.

How powerful was Kang in this? How would he compare to some of the MCU previous villains? And how would he fare against some of our more powerful heroes?

this was a Kang that was at a slight disadvantage (not at full power) and was still very OP... so, a Kang with full access to all his resources/ tech even against the more powerful heroes would easily hold his own and them some

Kang was the best part

it’s funny, I joked about them doing the Rama tut stuff but they actually did it! I guess that’s what makes marvel fun, they’re just like hey let’s just do it

I’d say he was half percentage of strength and tech. For the most part the Ant-Family were unable to match his might. The turning point was being overcome by an army of high tech ants who tore apart his suit. I fed that in Kang Dynasty he’ll be much more powerful

Depends. He had some powerful telekinesis when we first see him but he mysteriously never uses it again later. And when Scott and Hope attack him earlier in the movie he casually flicks them away with a finger, then later in the movie he struggles taking them on. His energy blasts also seem to be able to either incinerate you or simply knock you back depending on how important of a character you are. So it's hard to tell.

Unless Scott summons an army of technocratic ants.

I am a sucker for evil genius megalomaniacs, time travelling villains, and cosmic **** generally. Also, I really liked Majors in Loki, so is it any wonder that I really liked him here, too?

Re: "How powerful is Kang", it depends on what you mean by power. In terms of personal power in this movie, he's really powerful, but has limits. I'd say he's an order of magnitude stronger than Stark's best armor, but he's not in the same league as people like Thanos or Hela. *However*. . . this is with Kang being in a place where time manipulation doesn't really work. If he did escape into the larger multiverse, he would be considerably scarier- think of all the time begoobery that the TVA and He Who Remains did in Loki, only applied in battle.

Idk if it’s the allegations but I‘m somehow annoyed by him.
He‘s overperforming imho. There‘s no moment, where his mood (anger, arrogance, menace) isn’t over the top.

even ignoring the allegations...

rather they end up recasting him because of that, or not

my view on Kang and their many Varents

I feel like the idea of having all the Varents played by one person, was a bit much...

I'd be interested in seeing each Varent played by different actors (who fits the look and personality of that version of the character)

I get the thought process behind it of them having one unified look/actor for viewer to identify/associate with character (cause having multiple version of the same character can get confusing)

but, it also takes away from any type of suspect or reveal of who their real are (with in these individual stories)

also in the bigger picture/long run, when it come time to the "Kang Dynasty" type cross over, where we might see all of these varents together, it'll be a lot easier to shot these scenes, then having one actor play multi characters (and basically having to green screen them all into that shot, after having that actor filming each line separately, especially, when having the talk to each other)

"Messy" doesn't even come close to accurately describing this entire situation for Majors, regardless of the outcome.
