I certainly love convoluted Jean Grey/Phoenix stories but I'm not sure if Marvel wants another version of her running around especially when Rachel and Maddie are in play.

They have eXhausted this PhoeniX story arc already. Like give it up already and come up with new villains and story arcs. Come 2030s, you'd just get different versions of the Horsemen, Brotherhood, Sentinels and hosts of the PhoeniX force.

I have a new theory about Jean. What if Jean never died in House of X #4? I just re-read it and she confirmed the death of the other X-men to Xavier but her death was never confirmed. All we saw was the sentinel breaching her pod but unlike the other X-men, her death was not made explicit. Is it possible that Orchis captured her for intel?

Xavier only assumed she died bc his connection to her was severed but that could have simply happened bc she was attacked while trying to concentrate telepathically from space, not bc she died. I wonder if Orchis would corrupt and use her as a weapon against th X-men, especially if that Jean bonded with the PF and became Dark Phoenix

Catching up on the delayed X-Books, and I think Brisson has really started to come into his own on New Mutants. This new storyline really has me intrigued, and I like the way he's writing the team. I think the size of the cast is just too much, though. A lot of the heroes king of just stand around and are present for significant portions of the issues.

Jean was AMAZING in the last X-Force. Finally she has felt more alive here than she has in years. Percy really gets her in all aspects

Percy has done a great job, between giving us her perspective on death/resurrection and this last issue. X-Force needs her! I don't know what they're going to do now.

I dont blame him, its a great version of her costume that was cut too short in its use, and her going back to the marvel girl dress is dumb, it adds to the feeling that these arent the real xmen.

Nah, his current costume is one of his best look. Its a great redesign that takes the classic brown/yellow (whcih I hated) into the modern era

Yeah, the brown and tan one is superior. Wolvie’s current costume, Cyclops’ HoX costume, Storm’s Red costume, and Dauterman’s updated Jean costume are their definite modern looks.

Glad to see Angel and Magik on there! I recently reread HOX/POX and all of the Dawn of X comics so far, making sure to take notes this time. Feels like I got more of a handle on things now, but there are still so many pieces on the table. I mean each story has its own overarching problem and villains of course, but the main series especially is really doing some long term planning here.

I mean we have eight active titles, with X-Factor about to make nine. Then we are finishing up X-men/FF, jumping into X-Men Empyre, and building up to X of Swords. Meanwhile, we also get 5 Giant-Sized X-Men, 5 issues of Juggernaut, and I guess the X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills Extended Cut. There's so much going on!

Don't think Moira X, Children of the Atom or X-Corp will see the light of day though, which honestly is fine by me. I would be interested in a Giant-Sized X-Men: Moira X, but I guess we'll see more of her during X of Swords and X-Men.

Seen two different theories for the classified character based on the Free Comic book Day 2020. Spoilers for Giant-Sized Jean & Emma and that one.

The ending of X/FF was fine, but not super mindblowing. Empyre: X-Men is pretty wacky, but should be fun.

Its nice getting comics regularly again.

X/4 ended predictably. Which isn't a bad thing. However, the ending with Charles and Reed was a bit shocking, if something I should've seen coming with Xaviers' new outlook. I did like what they did with the info pages for that, though.

Hellions was creepy. It is such a weird, off the wall team, but so far, I enjoyed their first outing. Interesting conundrum with the Marauder clones for the resurrection protocols. I wonder where Sinister fits in as well, given the whole wide variety of Sinisters out there. And I do love they don't create a new reason for Madelyne to be around, given that she was resurrected than forgotten years ago.

Also, interesting preview for the Excalibur part of X of Swords, it looks like they are bringing back the X-ternals.
