CASTLEVANIA: SYMPHONY OF THE NIGHT (PS1)

Classic and iconic cheesy English dialogue, and the first and late voice actor of Chris Redfield as Richter Belmont. It's been 20 years since that man passed away.

I've been playing Gundam Battle Field Record 0081 for the past week. Old game from 2009, but never brought to the US. So all the dialogue and descriptions of things are in Japanese. But there is in fact plenty of English in the menus. It takes some trial and error and a good guide from Gamefaqs but I got the hang of it.

I was even able to buy some DLC from the Japanese PSN store.

The game itself is not so bad, plays well, but damn there are some huge difficulty spikes, and AI companions are overall useless. And there is also a HUGE in-game grind wall.

Resident Evil 2

I've played the demo last year but I finally had the will to buy/play this. And ugh. This game made me scream so much. I hate that Capcom removed a lot of the light bulbs in the rooms and zombies would instantly show up in your face. I wonder how stressful I'm going to be when Mr. X finally shows up. I'm kinda surprised that I'm one cutscene away for my 1st boss fight but it feels like I've already done so much in my 1st day playing this.

Mortal Kombat 11
My first platinum in a MK.
Does that mean it doesn't require finishing combo practice challenges for the platinum? Those are annoying.

If you're playing on Hardcore you will scream a lot before getting used to the game, especially when it comes to dogs in the parking area and a little after that. Cerberus are annoying regardless of difficulty, but at least on easier difficulties they can be killed with fewer shots.

Here are a few tips to deal with the dogs (especially if you're controlling Leon, Claire faces lickers instead in the parking area):
  • Shoot the ones in cages in the head and they won't harass you later, two 9mm shots to the head will do you a favor.
  • If you ran past a dog and are still in the same room with it while running, count to 4 and side step to the side further from a wall, the dog will miss you in its jump and you will have a window to escape the room while that monster turns around.

If you're playing as Claire
  • Prepare the grenade launcher and flame grenades, these are your best bet against a licker, and be very sure you don't kill the first one in the room with cages if you're not close to the door, cause the second licker in the room will find and slash you without appearing on screen.

Okay thanks for the advices as Ive done what you've said and I have yet to get a bite from the dogs.

I'm halfway done in Leon's chapter. I was killed twice though as Ada in the fire trap. Its weird after just two days I'm done with the police station but I'm not sure if I want to play as Claire. I think I can deal easily with the zombies, Mr. X and the rest, I'm playing the game in easy mode anyway- if the game isn't so dark. Thats my main problem with the game. I can't appreciate the graphical upgrade when I can only see things when the Leon points his flashlight. From the 90s videogame, I always look at the interior design but in the remake, 90% of the rooms have no light on. To me it ruins the experience. I have to look closer in the screen just to see things clearer and I'm always in a hurry to leave the rooms, because I can't see much, except for few rooms.

Good thing my tips helped.

I forgot how dark the place looked, and upped the brightness enough to make corridors visible.

I adjusted the brighteness and it didn't really help, and it was worse with Ada as she has no flashlight. Good thing, her segment was short.

It's possible that your TV might require some brightness adjustment as well exclusively for that game.

Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro
One of my favorite Spider-Man games, and there is a total of seven or eight I can call favorites and would actively try to play once a year.
