Playstation Ghost Of Tsushima

Man I almost had a heart attack yesterday with this game. I ended up getting a sweet samurai armor, and combined the helmet with a mask, looked badass. So then comes a cutscenes and....

The mask is gone! Right away I get PTSD flashbacks to Assassin's Creed Odyssey not allowing head gear in cutscenes. So I go check the options to see if there is a toggle option for masks in cinematics. And thank god there is. Toggled them on and all is right.

This may seem trivial to most but it's a very important feature to me in video games. When given the option to customize how you look, I expect it to show in cinematics. So I thank Sucker Punch for giving me that freedom. Unlike Ubisoft.

Really enjoying Ghost...such a beautiful looking game. The story is great so far and the gameplay is excellent.

Aside from the camera being a pain at times, I love the combat. Switching between stances during combos adds so much depth. I actually like how the camera doesn't automatically follow you in a set position during combat. I prefer to have free control over moving it around, i.e. I turned off the combat camera in Spider-Man ps4 and just did it all free hand. Though I think an adjustment to the camera maybe allowing certain objects to become transparent during a fight would really help.

It actually took me a bit to get used to the controls when on your horse. I'm so used to the Red Dead controls, for the first part of my playthrough I kept jumping off my horse, lol.

After about 8-9 hours of gameplay I'm still in Act I and haven't really done much of the story. Not uncommon for me though as I usually tend to take my time with games like these.

I think the only things I hope they add at some point is a new game plus and the ability to replay Mongol camps.

When i think of great soundtracks i normal think of nintendo games but this games soundtrack is so killer good!

At least play Infamous Second Son. It stands alone from the first 2 games, and was Suckerpunch's first PS4 game. Visually it's still a beauty, and even more impressive when considering it was released only 4 months after the PS4 launched.

SP opened the generation with a beautiful game and closed the generation with a beautiful game. I cant wait to see what they achieve with PS5.
Okay, since this would take 8 more months to go in sale. I'm gonna pick up Infamous Second Son at the end of the week, as I have nothing to play right now.

Hopefully, SP will open the PS5 gen with a new Infamous game and close it with Ghost 2. ;)

I would much rather get Ghost 2 before like a new infamous game. Its not that the infamous games are bad but i think Ghost is way better than any of the infamous games + we only have 1 compared to like 3 infamous games + like 2 side games.

What would/could Ghost 2 be about?

It could be set in another location with another protagonist? But keeping the "Ghost of" brand/gameplay.

Nah. Not everything needs a sequel.
Are you familiar the game industry? Ghost is a brand new IP with no pre-established brand recognition and yet it managed to blow up and get unanimous praise. Its getting a sequel. No self respecting publisher is going to shelve a successful new IP after a single game.

After finishing the main story yesterday, I can’t see a sequel being made unless you end up going to the mainland to face the Shogun and/or more Mongols.

His uncle said Jin would spend his life on the run, a peasant tells Jin and his uncle that refugees are taking supplies north for the Ghost's army, his uncle says more will follow the Ghost even if Jin doesn't want them to, people are choosing between the Ghost's ways and the way of honor, and that Jin has started something.

Thats the setup for the sequel. The Shogun isn't going to just forget Jin or that he murdered his uncle or that an army is forming in the Ghosts's name. And the Mongol's won't forget that the Ghost murdered their warlord. So Jin is going to have the Shogun, the Mongols, samurai, and fuedal lords after him and his growing army.

And the way the game never has the Shogun make an appearance felt too deliberate to not be setup for a future sequel.

Hopefully.

Just got to act 3 the other day before i saved. Got teary eyed about 3 different times during the second half of act 2. May be a little before i get time to beat the game now with sports being back up. Got like 5 games to watch today that will take up the day or at least most of it.

Given the good sales/reviews of this, I doubt Sucker Punch would just leave this as a 1 and done especially their track record with their 2 other ips. I'm up for a new ip but its not like they've already milked this IP with a bunch of games. There's also a potential to eXpand this ip through a sequel/s.

There will definitely be a sequel and I must admit although I’m having the best time I’m already wandering what they can do with it. Going to mainland japan would be fun but maybe they can keep the “ghost of” bit and explore different regions for example Joseon era Korea.

that way they could do the battle of Hansan Island which is like the third biggest battle of all time

Finally dove into this, as beautiful as the game's colors are, the black and white mode is just gorgeous, definitely going to spend most of my time on that setting.

I just finished and got the Platinum at the same time for this Masterpiece 10/10 game.

Minor issues aside, none of those detract from the amazing experience that is this game. It's game of the year through and through.

What a journey.

I wanted to do that but it’s too tricky to find supplies and things in black and white. Maybe when I’m done I’ll put Kurosawa mode back on and slice and dice. Geez I’m having an amazing time. Could it be my favourite PlayStation 4 game?

Man I am really letting Act 1 drag out. I keep doing all the side stuff. Only today did I rescue Taka. My rank is Hero of Tsushima. It's exciting knowing there is still so much more to be done.

I finish this like a week ago and I have a lot of mixed feeling about it. I enjoyed the combat and running around the very pretty world, but the game itself is super grindy, with side missions that all mirror each other and some truly blah writing and acting. In a lot of ways, it feels like big step back in what open world games have become post-Witcher 3. It feels more like early Assassin's Creed which is just poor design imo.

Of the samurai games from the last few years, this was by far the worst imo. Sekiro and the two Niohs are much better games.

Finished it last night. Absolutely wonderful, can’t wait for more. What a fantastic experience. I wonder what they will do for a sequel?
