Nia DaCosta to direct

Oh s***, I loved Little Woods. Here for this!

Hopefully her action scenes are better lit and coordinated than the previous movie.

I have no idea, who that is - but same for Taika Waititi back then.
I like it, how Marvel takes risks with talented unkown filmmakers

I've not seen Nia's first movie but she directed two episodes of Top Boy which I saw.

Hopefully Nia get's to put her own interesting stamp on this franchise.

Marvel is really taking their chances in Phase 4 with so many directors with limited and/or under-the-radar bodies of work. Hopefully they work out but I just get the feeling that one or two may not turn out all that well.

Fabulous! Can’t wait to see what they come up with!

This is exciting. Great news.

If rumors of a Secret Invasion storyline Are to be believed, this could fit well into DaCosta’s horror sensibilities. Plus, would love to see characters like Valkyrie, Spider-Man, Cap (Falcon), etc.

I wonder who’s going to be revealed as a Skrull...

Teyonah Parris is in Candyman, so we can expect her here.

My goal is a Brood Saga, which would also be a horror.

Nice choice. Candyman looks great.

Brood Saga doesn't have to be completely horror (think Alien 2 over Alien), but they did hire a horror director.

I thought the name sounds familiar but couldn't figure out why, until I remembered the name Bea DaCosta/Green Flame/Fire from DC Comics.

imagine if they hired someone from Aliens as an Easter egg. Imagine a Bill Paxton cameo

Is he really? Oh dear that’s terrible I could have sworn he was still around

Glad to have DaCosta on this. Some have been suggesting her for X-Men too recently.

Is it too much to hope Valkyrie can get in on this sequel, for a Tessa/DaCosta reunion??? Tessa and Brie are already BFFs so it just makes sense, lol.
Good call. That would fit on multiple fronts if there’s room for the character in the script. Seems like the main players would be up for it.

I think eXtra 10 minutes to flesh out certain scenes would have helped. I find more than 120 minutes a bit long too. Sitting for 2 hours straight is just not good. At home, I quickly lose attention and I always look at the runtime. But if a longer runtime improves the pacing of the film, so be it.

I think a big complaint about a lot of Phase 4/5 lower-rated films is they're too short. Thor: Love and Thunder, Quantumania, Doctor Strange 2, and now The Marvels have all been films under 2 hours that many critics have said needed another 10-20 minutes to flesh out characters/storylines. Not sure what happened in Marvel's hiring process where they found directors who thought runtimes needed to be under 2 hours even before production started. It's like they were just trying to speed through Phase 4 without letting films breathe.

I am unaware those other films are under two hours. I haven't seen the others since I saw them in theater.
