Personally the more I hear about Amber Heard the more I think she’s a psycho. I think they should recast.

Her social media pages are locked because thousands of people are flooding her page and calling her sick in the head and a liar. Which lead to her disabling the comments. There's also a petition to boot her out of Aquaman 2 which has at 275k signatures. Even though petitions don't work the majority of the time, I think it show just how unliked she is and that WB keeping her wouldn't be a good look on their part.

If Mera is recast, my choices would be either Alice Eve or Yvonne Strahovski.

I highly doubt a recast is coming. WB is weird about this stuff and they kept Depp around for Fantastic Beasts.

Heard does sound like a psycho, but ... I feel very strongly that they shouldn't recast.

I don't know if this is just the fanboy in me who wants to preserve continuity, the fact that Amber Heard is insanely hot as Mera, or whatever. But I just really loved her in the role. Heard is no Meryl Streep, but I thought this was the best role she ever played. She had good chemistry with Jason Momoa and I thought she brought a great physicality to the character of Mera, in scenes like the one where she hurls the wine projectiles at the bad guys. Aesthetically, she looked like she was born to play the role.

The other thing is that I tend to be an advocate of separating the artist from the art. There are many creative types that I personally dislike, but enjoy their art (e.g. Richard Wagner). Now, I'm not saying Amber Heard is the equivalent of Richard Wagner. But I personally would prefer that WB retain her in the role of Mera. She might be a horrible person in real life, but I like her portrayal of Mera. That's just how I feel at this point.

If they decide not to recast her then honestly I’d be fine with it as I liked her as Mera but I do feel like she’s a pretty terrible person. Maybe they should allow her back on the proviso she gets some help.

I doubt they're going to recast.

While there's alot of twitter ,and online fandom outrage towards Heard, at the end of the day, her drama has been relationship based, as opposed to a Mel Gibson style, public meltdown.

Had she been behaving this way towards James Wan ,the producers ,or Jason M, that would be something different . Then , I could see them recasting Mera.

Hollywood is filled with unlikable, and yes, unstable "creative" people, so even given her stuff with Depp, they aren't likely to get rid of her just because of online fan outrage with regards to her personal life.

I'm sort of in agreement. I don't think she should be fired or replaced over her personal life in this instance.

Shooting is currently underway with Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Amber Heard among those involved on top of Leto. It is unclear which other actors are involved.

Sure, it's unrelated to Aquaman 2, but hey, she'll be back for more additional Justice League scenes when you consider that, of the actors to bring back, Snyder could've picked actors who he felt were needed for the scenes he planned to shoot. Heard is one of them.
