Which makes me wonder, why did they decide to leave Alan Scott and Jay Garrick out of this?

I think the addition of the original, Egyptian-themed Hawkman is a very good move (depending, obviously, on how he is used). But as always YMMV.

I would guess that Cyclone is there as a love interest for Black Adam. Her wind powers are a good stand-in for Isis, who has been used in that role before but IIRC DC doesn’t own the rights to.

My main worry was that they would try to make him too heroic. I was afraid he was going to be portayed as a rough around the edges good guy, the Dirty Harry of superheroes.
However it seems they are still keeping a strong sinister aspect to him.
Quite pleased with what we got a Fandome, but I still think I would have prefered if it was set entirely in the ancient past.

What do you mean? Of course Hawkman should get adapted, now that both Aquaman and Shazam have been.
It's something that has to happen at some point.

But many people were strongly against Aquaman happening too. I remember that I had many clashes with an online friend during 2005-10. To him, the character was totally a joke. It wouldn't happen, and it certainly shouldn't either.
