The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

Michael Keaton's batman is the only multiverse character but is Tim Burton's bat universe the only alternate world besides the Flashpoint changes? The fandome panel made it seem like it'll be similar to the CW's Crisis of Infinite Earth's event where the multiverse included universes of DC films and shows that included Tim Burton's and a cameo by Ezra Miller's Flash.

Will the TV shows Flash cameo?

The comic book cast channel on YouTube had a video about that RE: TV show ppl appearing. Hunch was yes for fan service.
Was surprised they mentioned Game of Thrones but not It in the video RE: multiverse.

WW, Aquaman and Shazam got rid of the bad vibes from JL, ppl liked them for that. Too hard to do that with Flash?

So there was a (disappointingly) short video on DC Fandome today called ' Flash Fan Questions'. Not much at all revealed since Andy Muschietti & Ezra Miller each only answered one question a piece but here's the deets -

- On the tone of the movie, Muschietti says it won't be light or dark, it will be a mix of everything. Directly compared it to the tone of his IT movies. Will be a deep, emotional story but also very funny and even horrifying in some moments.

- Ezra hasn't seen the new suit yet but has heard exciting things. Believes in some ways it will be a more traditional, comic-based suit but in other ways might be more unconventional. Heard it will potentially be more lightweight than JL suit.

What they are doing with breaking open the multiverse is cool, keeping the shared continuity like Marvel. Its just sounding less like a Flash movie despite being the first Flash solo movie. It’s like Captain America Civil War as the origin story instead of the First Avenger. Lots of DC characters you’d hope would include the stock supporting characters from Flash canon.

I'm hoping they don't use Reverse Flash as the villain, but instead use the multiverse aspect and have an evil alternate universe Barry Allen.

Reverse Flash is the only evil speedster that I want to see.
The show already did the evil Barry thing and it was lame.

Just because it wasn't done well in one interpretation doesn't mean the concept itself is flawed.
If they were just doing time travel I could see Reverse Flash making more sense, but since they are already focusing on the multiverse concept and the idea of alternate versions of characters, why not run with that?
It saves having to explain Thawnes origin and could set up a future JL film with the Crime Syndicate.

They can't do a beat for beat movie based on Flashpoint, so I dunno how they are going to attempt to even do a slimmed down version of it. You haven't really introduced the group around Allen outside his father, or an archenemy, and I'm not sure how much story Iris got in the Snyder Cut, that's why I felt doing Flashpoint as the 1st movie didn't make sense to me and was probably a reaction choice.

I imagine they are really only using the basic concept of; he travels back in time and accidentally changes things.
I expect this to be no more like Flashpoint than Logan was like Old Man Logan.

Yeah this is Flashpoint In Name Only really. It is about how Flash can affect time but we arent going to see the Flashpoint Universe like we did in the comics. You would need a miniseries to do that.

i have a good theory but it is more of a hunch.. that the villian for the flash movie will be SAVITAR and not the clunky metal evil barry version of him from the flash series. i would cast the only person that could perfectly fit that role and it is DANNY TREJO. have danny trejo build up enough body mass and muscle mass and put the helmet piece, wrist bands and black tight jeans and the lightning scar on his chest. perfect role casting.. and if the movie is also based around the speed force.. savitar's story would fit perfectly in place with that.

Other than Reverse Flash is it even gonna have a Flash rogues gallery? Or just the ghosts of Jack Nicholson’s Joker, Michelle Pfieffer’s Catwoman and Danny DeVito’s Penguin?
Muschietti just posted a Batman drawing on his Instagram.

I feel like we may actually get the TV side of DC in this, which would be really cool. Even if it's just a small glimpses of it. I can enjoy the fan service.

By TV, do you mean the DC Universe shows or the CW shows? Or both? We've already seen Ezra in the CW TV series, so they could definitely go the other way with it too. Sounds like everything and the kitchen sink is on the table for this movie.

It's not even called Flashpoint lol

I was thinking at least the "powerhouse" side of the DC TV universe. But Doom Patrol seems to be a solid hit. Swamp Thing got some love too. Titans was the only one that felt more mixed.

I'd love to see them all, no matter how small their roles are
