DC Universe - Justice Society: World War II

Looks like the JSA is on the up and up. Central group in Stargirl, main heroes in Black Adam, and now their own animated film? love it.

Are these in the continuity of Man of Tomorrow???

Soul of the Dragon since it’s 1970s but already in Man of Tomorrow ....maybe

Long Halloween might be in same continuity with Batman Year One movie that came out years ago.

Justice Society I dunno could be a prequel to Man of Tomorrow....

I’d bet that The Long Halloween is its own thing, free from the continuity of any of the other films.

The rest, idk.

3 Batman films and a team film, seems about right. Guarantee they’ll shove Batman in the JSA film too

'Superman: Man of Tomorrow' is STILL being reported as a standalone. We'll have to wait and see.

Hyped for this one. I suppose it will be a Justice League or maybe even a Wonder Woman time travel adventure?

It’s been confirmed via the IGN panel that Superman MOT is the start of a new universe.

I really hope these new animated movies are self contained films that are not part of of a shared universe. Would like each movie to have its own unique animation style and maybe even have some of them take place in different eras

Yeah the IGN review of MOT said that it’s a new continuity that will start a new universe.

There’s an article saying it too at the home Page of superherohype

But yet the next movies of 2021 looks like it has nothing to do with MOT continuity lol

Since Soul of the Dragon and Justice Society are different time periods the most likely candidate will be Long Halloween.

So imagine Long Halloween with the same animation as Man of Tomorrow.

IGN updated their article, per WB, to clarify that it is NOT the start of a shared universe. However, the creatives seem a bit wishy washy. Who knows... wish they would just come out and say it.

I dont really need it to be a shared universe. I love shared universes but the movies dont interact with one another that much anyway. Just give me good movies like we started out with.

I hope this is really a time period film set in the 1940s before JL The New Frontier and not “Just a Name” called World War 2 because the producers thinks it’s a cool title for a JSA movie.

What precedent is there to make you believe a film with the title “World War II” wouldn’t actually entail WWII?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

The more accurate title is The Rise of Palpatine or The Rise of Rey.

None of the Skywalkers rose at any point in this movie.

But since Rise of Skywalker is a cooler title they just said yup lets call it that. We will make it fit somehow.

This JS movie could be set in modern times and briefly mentioned something that happened in WW2 where they have to accomplish something in the present where it’s connected to WW2 lol

SW : Rise of Skywalker is named for the reason of the 'true' meaning and feeling of the ending, which I won't spoil for those who haven't yet seen it, but the ending and the journey is the whole point of the name of the film. Anyway, back on subject, looking forward to this, aye.

JSA World War 2 is long overdue as one of the movies I'm looking forward to since I'm a JSA fan.

Random thought: I hope one day we get an animated adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths. I'm rereading it right now and holy hell it's such a great epic.

Considering that they did a 2-part TDK animated adaption, im not sure why they refuse to COIE at the moment.

DC's 'Justice Society: World War II' Sets Voice Cast (Exclusive) | Hollywood Reporter

Considering the direction that DC’s been committed to going with the character, I was kind of hoping Bomer would be playing Alan Scott.

Also the inclusion of Iris and the fact that we have two separate actors listed for Flash and Jay Garrick has me betting this will be like Flash of Two Worlds meets any of the Crisis comics from the sixties.

Wonder Woman has very interesting hair...
