MICHAEL KEATON RETURNS (or at least in discussion) AS BATMAN

I really hope he doesn't bail on this.
The whole thing has been spoken of in such a matter-of-fact manner so far that I have to imagine this is down to just a salary negotiation at this point. Especially if this goes beyond just this film.

I wonder if his team didn't know Affleck was returning when negotiations started and it's now given them cold feet or the desire to secure an even bigger pay day.

Keaton doesn't need this film at all, but it would be a big win for WB so he really does have all the power here. If he drops out my interest plummets.

I feel like if the deal fell apart, they’d just have to completely revamp the whole concept, because there’s really no runner-up for what they’re going for. There’s JDM, but that makes the whole thing a bit Snyder-heavy and I think they’re probably trying to draw in folks who maybe didn’t love that era of DC films. There’s Bale, which would surely create buzz, but the “realism” of his films kind of clash with this concept whereas the more heightened nature of the Burtonverse allows Keaton to take part. And lastly, there’s Pattinson, which would also surely generate buzz, but would probably change whatever post-Flash plans they had.

It’s gotta be Keaton. And I really feel like they’ve put too much out there for it not to be. Hopefully this is just a matter of crossing the Ts and dotting the Is.

I guess? I watched a few minutes, and he said, "Can't talk about it." I mean what's going on?

I guess it's possible that they've made a deal, but he's under some gag order until an announcement is allowed.

But WB basically gave Vanity Fair the go ahead to confirm it during that big Affleck announcement article in late August.

And surely if the deal hasn't been signed, Variety/Deadline would be sniffing around to find out any updates.

I know Keaton was skittish wih The Vulture gig but it didn't take this long to seal the deal. He couldn't wait to get away from The Flash stuff quick enough in that interview.

It looks like the script has been built around him returning. They really need him if the Doctor Strange 2 rumours are true with multiple Spider-Men, Hugh Jackman returning and Tom Crusie as Iron Man.

Keaton is almost 70. They need to just a Batman Beyond movie with him.

Weren't there early rumours that Keaton's desire to do a Batman Beyond movie was one of the negotiating points for his return?

I don't see the big deal. He's being coy like many before him

Then again this is Flash. This movie is cursed to never come out so who knows

Hugh Jackman isn't returning.

That sounds awful. Lol I don't see Jackman coming back, and everything else about the 12 Spider-Mans popping up in the next 5 MCU movies sounds absurd and it won't do much to harm Flash unless they drop the same day, which they won't.

Nobody's gonna see the marketing for Flash, think it looks cool, then bail on seeing it bc a Spider-Man movie came out.
