Multitasking FTW!!! :highfive:
I’m also doing light exercise at the same time lol. This way gaming becomes a freebie and no drain on time. :cwink:

This Middle Earth game is good too so far. I hope we get a next gen follow up to this or something similar from Monolith.

I think Shadow of War is one of the free PS+ games this month. So, I'll need to download it, but I have yet to play the 1st one. Yet another game in my massive neverending backlog of games. :o

Speaking of Middle Earth games, I really want a full, open-world, create-your-own character style RPG. Kind of surprised it hasn't been done yet.

But we are getting an open-world Harry Potter RPG, so maybe a Middle Earth one will come down the road. Certainly lots of potential!!

Old article but it suggests open world Tolkien as Monolith’s next game.

Shadow of War dev’s next game could be open-world – and might have humans in its Nemesis system

I really can’t wait to see some footage from The Initiative’s game. Such a talented team they’ve put together.

I have a feeling the Initiative's game will be a Game Awards reveal.

Hopefully it is further along than we think. Would be great if it were ready for 2021 and would definitely give all the new Series X owners something to look forward to next year.

However, there's always the chance that, if it's just getting revealed now, it could still be a long ways off. Which would be yet another far-off game to anticipate, which doesn't help Xbox in the near-term.

I'm still hoping it's the rumored Perfect Dark reboot. But as a Metal Gear Solid type 3rd person stealth-adventure game.

Even if it's not Perfect Dark, I hope it's some kind of AAA 3rd person game, and not another 1st person shooter. Which would dampen my interest right away.

Yeah, quite possible as they were supposed to be showing something by the end of the year. I think it’s likely to be Perfect Dark although I was hoping for something more aligned with my interests from what is likely to be one of their best studios. I also hope it’s 3rd person as Microsoft is now good for FPS and first person WRPG.

Cool. I don't much about this game. Who is making it?
A Spanish indie studio called Out of the Blue. They mention making narrative and puzzle games on their website.

Oh cool, thanks.

The one thing I am enjoying so far is the very fast load times. Have not bought ACV or Watchdogs (though I do want to at some point) been playing mostly Destiny 2 and some other older games. The load time reduction makes playing so much more enjoyable.

Also put in grounded which seems much better as well, Smoother and better looking? (maybe my imagination).. but again load times... wow.. did not think this would matter so much to me.. but it does.

Next will be trying out Wasteland 3, gave that up because.. I did not like load times between zones. :)

Now I have to decide, do I sell my XB1X for like 250 (Canadian) or keep it for my bedroom (most likely) or.. trade it for a PS4Pro so I can play some of them exclusives like Spiderman

Yeah, drastically reduced loading times is the killer feature I never knew I needed.

:fst: I hate Walmart and these stupid retailers so ****ing much. Walmart announces they are selling it at 3 pm. I had it in my cart and was in checkout and hit place order and the website crashed! When it reloaded it was out of stock!

If its in a cart it should be locked to that ****ing cart!

I know how frustrating that feels. :(

But that's basically how it has been for both of these consoles. Clearly, the online infrastructure of these retailers needs to be overhauled and improved.

Agreed. I don't mind if there is a timer by when you need to complete but if you've got to that stage you should be guaranteed a console if you can successfully finish the process in time. If the timer runs out then your reserved console should go back on the market for the next person to try.

Thats how Amazon does their lightning deals. Once its in your cart you have a timer and it can't be claimed by anyone else during that time.

Walmart has now announced they will being selling it again on November 25 at 9PM. And because it has to be shipped to the person, a week or more transit time, the earliest anyone can hope to get their hands on one from Walmart is in December.

And let's not forget those scum suckers that use programs to buy up all the stock less than 30 seconds after they are available to buy then turns around and sells them on eBay for $1500!

I know Best Buy has a "reserve timer" feature during it's checkout process. At least for "normal" items. But for these high-demand items, that feature seems disabled.

Which is stupid and frustrating, because that's when it would be most useful. It would be like going to the store, physically grabbing the item off the shelf and putting it in your cart. And then as you are walking to the checkout counter, someone comes over and physically takes the item out of your cart.

I agree that for online ordering, if you've made it to the point where you've added the item to your cart, it should be reserved and "held" in your cart for a certain period of time. You shouldn't have to worry that it will be snatched away while you fumble around to enter your credit card and payment info.

And in these cases, due to the high activity, it's not even your fault that it's taking so long to enter your info and payment. The system itself keeps hanging up and giving error messages. So by the time it does work and you hit Place Order, the item is already gone.

Again, that's like walking up to the checkout counter in the store, item in hand and credit card ready to pay. But the cashier is busy helping other customers, so while you wait, someone comes up next to you and grabs the item out of your cart.

I wish all launch consoles could only be used by those who bought them until stocks were more widespread. I really hate the practise of scalping which hurts real fans.

But scalping will continue to occur as long as there are people willing to pay those exorbitant prices out of desperation and impatience. As long as there continues to be a market, there will be scalpers.

The best way to stop it is to not buy from the scalpers.

I don’t think any of us ever have. We’re just the ones that lose out because the practise exists.

We may not give into the scalpers. But there are obviously just enough people who do to make it worthwhile for the scalpers. Hence why the practice still exists.

But I agree. We end up losing out because of it.

Not surprising. I've been expecting something like this for some time now. If not a ubiquitous app on tvs and other smart devices, then at least some kind of streaming stick like a Roku or Fire device.

Whether or not this will fully replace the Xbox console remains to be seen. Probably not in the short term. However, this does feel like the inevitable "endgame" for MS/Xbox given the recent direction they've been moving towards in the last several years.

And frankly, this is one reason why a part of me still remains hesitant to invest in Xbox as a console (by purchasing the Series X). I just don't have a high degree of confidence that Xbox will be around as a dedicated console in the traditional sense over the long term.

It wouldn't surprise me if, 4 or 5 years from now, with Gamepass and XCloud streaming taking off and Series X console sales lagging behind PS5 for another generation, that MS exits the console space and focuses on being a game publisher (with all of its studios) to produce content for their Xbox streaming app/stick as well as other platforms.
