World What Went Wrong With the 2011 Green Lantern Movie?

Watched this again since it first came out....for the most part still just as lackluster. Having a CGI suit/mask/eyes was just a bad idea all around. Wasnt a fan of Reynolds version of Hal.

Honestly? They tried mashing too much stuff together.

They should have done a (pretty much) straight adaptation of Secret Origins, have Hector Hammond be the bad guy. Then done Parallax later.

This is pretty much how I felt at the time. I still haven't seen the film the whole way through in one sitting , but it seemed to me that they needed to focus on just a few key ideas and concepts from the GL Mythology as opposed to trying to dump alot of stuff at once.

Ironically, I remember that X Men first Class came out around the same time, and alot of fanboys argued that that was going to be the bad film and GL was going to be the hit.

It might have helped to have Sinestro be the other villain instead of Parallax.
