I hope that their MCU roles are what Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani will be most known for, especially for Teyonah. She's a good actress and her three best roles were in Dear White People, Chi-Raq and If Beale Street Could Talk. However she's best known as "The black girl from Mad Men" and I hope her role as Monica Rambeau changes that. I hope it comes to a point where people recognize both ladies best for their roles in the MCU, especially if both become fan favorites. I look at Mark Ruffalo as an example. Before he played Hulk he was one of those actors I had recognized in other movies, but I didn't know his name. But since he's played The Hulk, whenever I see him now out of the MCU, I say "oh hey, Mark Ruffalo is in this! cool!" Same with the late Chadwick Boseman. I had seen him in a bunch of things in movies and TV before he was Black Panther, but I didn't know who he was until he played Jackie Robinson in "42" and then I had forgotten his name until I saw him announced as Black Panther and I was like "that's the guy who played Jackie Robinson in 42!"
Now I knew who Teyonah was before she was cast as Monica. But I want to come to a point in a few years that when I see her in a non-MCU movie in a few years (while still playing Monica) to be seeing her name in the credits and know that she's Monica Rambeau in the MCU rather than "the black girl from Mad Men." I look at it more like RDJ, Cheadle, Mackie, Renner, Scar Jo, SLJ, Evans and Pratt. I knew who they were before they were in the MCU but since the MCU, their MCU role is what I know them best from. With Iman, I hope she gets recognized for playing Kamala Khan even in Non-MCU movies (in the future "Ms. Marvel star.")
