Didn't even realize it was set to start soon, but like every other production, can't be helped. At least other productions that are or were already underway like MCU Spider-Man 3 and The Batman have precautions already set in place and can work within those parameters.

Marvel has still an unannounced movie for October 2022. With DS2 now being delayed probably 1-2 months again, I can see it pushed back to that date. First scary MCU movie during Halloween month....
Another option could be switching release dates with Thor L&T or Black Panther 2, since it needs to be part of Phase 5 (which BP2 isn’t and therefore probably pushed back)
But it sucks of course, that the most anticipated movie again is forced to not happen.

wild theory:
Marvel Studios is adapting Triumph & Torment, but Wanda replacing Doom.
Mephisto takes Billy and or Thommy at the end of WandaVision and Wanda teams up with Doctor Strange to get them back. Could also be the other way around with Wanda sacrifing herself for Billy and Thommy and they try to rescue her from hell with Doctor Strange

Ive heard Nightmare is also the villain of WandaVision too. I think perhaps he acts like a Thanos and has Mephisto as a henchman (a role reversal) and reveals himself at the end as the one pulling the strings. Which leads straight into TMOM.

I guess it’s hard because there’s no conventions to announce them at so how do you hype it? Also, if you hype too soon and the movie is delayed it’s no good

I think we‘ll get the villain casting after he/she showed up in WandaVision - they want to keep that as a surprise.
But then again I think DS2 will get delayed due to production stop and it’s unclear when the can resume filming.
I have a feeling that DS2 will get the BP date in July. It makes sense, because they also probably need more time after Chadwicks death.

I've wondered that about Rachel McAdams. However, the simplest explanation is the protegee role is being played by Wanda and they don't want the creepy lover/protegee combination.
