Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

This isnt the equivalent of hair continuity. This is the equivalent of Han Solo coming out of carbonite in ROTJ and being played by Warwick Davis.

I didn't much care for some of the changes to Godzilla in KOTM and I dont like this. Godzilla 2014's scale and physical mass was one of the best aspects of him, and with each movie they've tried to "fix" what wasn't broken and have made it worse each time.

And honestly if the only way to make this fight plausible was to shrink Godzilla then they shouldn't have contrived this fight in the first place. I would have much rather had a proper sequel to KOTM that dealt with the fallout of the apocalyptic global destruction caused by the monsters and whatever Alan Jonah is doing with Ghidorah.
Yeah... it is because it's complaining about something that doesn't matter and no one who is actually engaged in the movie will or should care. So Godzilla scale is different does that make the story worse? Does that make the action worse? Does it actually make any dialogue or character moments worse? No.
It really doesn't matter and affect the quality of the film. Much like stuff like "why isn't out hair more messed up" points. It reminds me of people who used to complain about actors being "too short" to play a role because they were like 5'9 instead of 6 foot. And to the odd Warwick Davis Carbonite point, it's not like Godzilla has been redesigned to the point of being unrecognizable or anything like that. I get you were probably just putting extra sauce on your point, but still it doesn't look like they've made a new design (which I guess would be the equivalent of switching Ford with Davis)

But different strokes for different folks.

Heart says Kong, but head says Zilla would turn Skull Island’s finest into charcoal. I'm expecting Kong to do much better than expected though, much like how Batman surprises Superman in combat - all to make things interesting for the viewer.

Batman cheats with kryptonite.

Is this new?

The movie established Kong was a teenager in that movie, so it's not that far-fetched to assume he could have grown that much in size in 30+ years.
When was it established he was in his teens?

I'm aware it was stated that he was the last of his kind, as we saw the remains of his parents. In any case, such a growth in such a small span of time for a creature that lives for as long as these monsters do ... doesn't seem plausible to me, but we are discussing a fictional setting.

They never really addressed Godzilla varying in size in all his Japanese appearances, they only do in the Heisei era, and I don't think anyone outside of nerds like us will care.
The vast majority of people probably won't case, but I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people will notice and ponder.

I don't really care about the scale of Godzilla. I don't see why it matters. It doesn't make the movie and better or any worse and seems pretty nitpicky.
Zilla's scale is prominent of the character though. He's supposed to be this colossal figure.

Well Kong is smart. Maybe he'll use Kryptonite too? :p

"Kong's the last of his kind, but he's still growing."

Plus his Monarch description literally says that he's still an adolescent and growing at the time of that movie. I don't know why this one detail of him growing in size in 30+ to an adult form bothers you so much.

It's more the size he would need to grow to compete with the 2014 Godzilla on that size.

I simply don't buy (in a fictional universe) that he'd grow THAT much more. His size against Zilla on that Battleship is more plausible as he doesn't look like he's grown that much more, instead Zilla has shrunk.

And he's still a colossal figure... It's not like they made him 7 feet. He's still very large.

And no way in the world do a "majority" of people think about that. As has been said before except people online no one will care. It's not gonna be an issue. If the movie is bad it won't be because of Godzilla's size. If it's good it won't be because of that either

Bringing up old grudges from the 2014 movie. It would be more fun to watch if I could actually SEE Muto and Godzilla fight

Muto's encounter with the nuke was nothing more than pitch black with some red eyes moving around.

This to the max. I mean it's a good movie. I enjoyed it. But why treat Godzilla like so? Show the G in all his glory. Glad KOTM more rectified that mistake.
The only things I didn't like about 214 Godzillas design was the feet, arms too close together, and its small ass head.

I watch Pacific Rim every so often and its a damn shame they didn't properly continue it, or even give us a look into the early years of the Kaiju War, cause the world building and backstory was absolutely fantastic.

I love every Godzilla design equally. They bring a myriad of lore to the table tbh. If Toho so inclined at this point they could do an Into The Godzillaverse Special.

Honestly, and of course we haven't seen the movie yet, but complaining or even noticing the character scale reminds me of the story from the filming of A New Hope. They were filming a scene that was chronologically after the trash compactor scene. Hamill remarked that shouldn't their hair be more messed up since they were coming out of garbage and Harrison Ford said "If people are looking at your hair, we're all in big trouble."

But to each their own

I think fans just want some internal consistency.

I think some people fail to realize is that most of the Godzilla films are reboots and sequels to the 54 movie that’s why his size differs. Most of the movies aren’t connected

I wonder if they'll justify it in the film and give a reason for him shrinking. Maybe he's been deprived of radiation.

I hope they do as stuff like this bugs me a lot. Or humans have been able to make bigger vehicles for more protection or something.

Also just as important, when the hell are getting a 4K release for 2014 Godzilla?

The Showa era and some of the Millennium era ones are, for the Heisei era, 1985 was the sequel and the rest of the Heisei movies were from the same continuity as 1985.

Also 2014, KOTM, and Godzilla v Kong are all supposed to be the same Godzilla, hence people complaining about his size and design being inconsistent.
