Yeah Book of Fett's narrative setting allows them to move it back post fall of the Empire setting, where
crime syndicates rising to fill that void left by the Empire belongs and is interesting.

I keep thinking that the scenario was:


Bib had something cooking. Maybe Jabba was in on it maybe not. But it was something whose payoff was juicy. And either Bib or the slug knew Boba was needed as muscle as this was too big to expect the Greedo types in their employ to pull off.

They try to wine and dine Boba... Then R-2 and 3-PO show up and we know what happens next.


So, somehow Bib kicked it off the barge before it explodes (This mirrors somewhat a Legends/EU story about Bib.) and makes it back to the palace. The Hutt head of this operation is dead along with a chunk of mafia solders and other in lead position.

Bib now HAS to pull off this job whatever it is but most of the best guys on Jabba's palace are now corpses out in the wastes of the desert. Then he thinks... "Sarlacc digestion is damned slow. Maybe... Just maybe Fett is still kicking around inside the beast?" He rescues Fett who as a man with a code feels the need to pay him back. They pull the job and however it plays out Boba is stabbed in the back and left for dead.

Thus, Fett's first act after getting his armor post aiding Din with the rescue of Grogu is to go back to Jabba's palace and kill Bib.

We know that they’re currently in production

I’m guessing since most everything is being filmed inside a sound stage it will be difficult to get any leaks or pics. It’s kinda of a good thing I guess
