I feel totally differently. After seeing this movie, I’m super thankful the Fox movies never got to do Mr. Sinister since that leaves the character on the table for the MCU to use for their version in the future. And After Apocalypse, I’d rather Marvel be the first ones to bring the character to the big screen than Fox.

Being done by Fox doesn't mean Marvel Studios cannot do them again. They can easily do a new Apocalypse, Sentinels, Magneto, etc

True, but going off what Marvel has done with their take on Spider-Man I think they wouldn’t be so quick to redo villains that’s been done before. At least not in the first film.

They may go that route with the X-Men, but we just don't know how they are approaching them. The X-Men and Spider-Man are very different, so they may opt for Magneto or something anyway. We just don't know.

You would think so, but it appears Electro is in the next movie with the same actor so it's hard to be sure.

I got around to watching this. It doesn't dethrone Dark Phoenix as the worst FoX-Men film, it was better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the reviews may have been a bit too harsh but it's still meh. Maisie Williams and Anya Taylor-Joy made it watchable, even if the latter hammed it up a bit at times. Other than that it felt like I was watching a pilot for a TV show that never got picked up. They also should have just ripped the band-aid off and released it back in 2018 as originally intended. It made no difference at all.

20th Century Fox doesn't exist anymore so, by definition, they couldn't have kept the movie.

There was no harm in releasing the movie, honestly. The X-Men will get rebooted into the MCU regardless, and by releasing it Disney is making some money to offset the costs of making the film they inherited when they bought Fox. Remember, they acquired 20th Century Fox's debts in the purchase.

Yeah, the movie is a sunk cost. From Disney's perspective, the only reason not to release the movie is if the physical release of the movie cost more than it could earn. Plus, they get to write off any losses as tax deductions.

They should have released it in 2018. And even though it was bad, I would still haveprefer if I saw it in the big screen.

Though the good thing I can think about this film with the delays, is I don't think the general public are even aware this was released because people were (are still) dealing with the pandemic. It literally just came and went. Well this wasn't even released here in where I live (theaterical/home media).

Finally got around to seeing it, and like a few others said, I expected something truly terrible and what I got was simply ok forgettable. It definitely reminded me of one of the lower tier Stephen King films from the 1980s ala Firestarter. There definitely was something there, but they never fully embraced it. Maybe if it was truly horrendously bad or gonzo, it could have developed a cult following. As is, it's not quite good enough or bad enough for that.

Ah well, no harm no foul.

When I hear 'reshoots' I normally think the execs have stepped in to soften a creations' edges. Turns out this one was just super bland and dull. I imagine budget cuts didn't help but man there is no style here at all.

Enjoyed his even more 2nd time. It has a nice bit of heart to it and the cast are really good, shame we won’t get to see them in these roles again, especially Anya Taylor Joy as Magik, loved her here. The final fight was really well done considering the budget also.

It would’ve been good to see the trilogy completed as well as this would have been a nice little spin off of the main series which did something different. But alas it wasn’t to be. Can see this movie gaining a cult following over the years though.

Finally caught this. It was fine however I really liked Wolfsbane, Magik and Demon Bear. I think the saving grace for me is that it took a swing. Presented an interesting concept but ultimately there were flaws.

It reminded me a lot of Nightmare on Elm St 3. Which made me think; this movie would've been a lot better if a couple more mutants were in this and they could've got killed off throughout the course of the film to build stakes. The primarily problem for the film was no one felt like they were truly in danger. Once the movie was an hour in with not a single casualty I knew all the primary characters would make it out. If you're gonna go the horror route then just do it.

Pretty much dead center. But i'd rather watch this than many, many other fox marvel films.

They fleshed out these characters better than Fox did with storm, colossus, shadowcat, iceman... for real i am not understanding the hate.

I’m surprised as anyone but I actually enjoyed this. It was definitely better than the last two X-Men movies. It was a self contained story. The cast had good chemistry. The FX were good. Obviously not going to happen but I would see another movie with these characters.
