The Avengers Avengers Assembled: News and Speculation - - - Part 69

I do still need to watch the awards show itself (thank goodness for DVR where I can buzz through the boring/stupid stuff and get to what I want to see), but yeah... this was the first MTV MA's that I've actually looked forward to for the past few years simply because Twilight wasn't nominated for anything major and instead only had the 'best shirtless' scene. I admit I also take a bit of sadistic pleasure in the fact that Twihards weren't able to get Kristen Stewart a win for Best Hero (for Snow White & the Huntsman) either. Granted, I would've preferred Iron Man, Hulk or even Batman to win that one (I initially was voting for Iron Man myself) but when it became clear that all the other nominees were being left in the dust and the army of Ringers seemed the most likely to give Twihards a run for their money, I threw my weight in with them and Voted Bilbo (with the occasional IronMan & Hulk hashtag thrown in as well)...and I do love Bilbo as a hero, he might not have been my first pick for "best" but I'm happy with the result.

Be prepared for Rebel Wilson in tight black leather, dear god D';

Thanks for posting that, Vartha! The original rumour was really getting to me even though I tried to ignore it and pass it off as false. This definitely makes me feel better. I really hope Hawkeye gets a chance to shine in the next film, and after seeing them all assembled I would hate to see any of the six recast.

Not a Clue Venom. Still like I said in the Hawkeye section, I would really like to hear this from Jeremy. Right NOT it's still all just hearsay

lol Yeah but any news right now is good news when it comes to the next movies

only thing is there is no source listed in Perez' posting. SO I would take this with a grain of salt right now. I do hope Renner does return as Hawkeye personally.

Yeah That's why I'll wait to hear it from Renner first.

Wow breaking news from possibly the worst blogger on the internet.
Still unsure how this hack as made so much money from no talent.

Hilton has more credibility than some guy from cbm with a made up source. It's still hard to believe that so many people accepted that guy's "rumor" as the gospel truth based on nothing more than a year-old article from Total Film and his own questionable word.

Saturn Awards: ‘Avengers,’ ‘Breaking Bad’ lead sci-fi-fantasy-horror pack: Variety

“Marvel’s The Avengers” and “Breaking Bad” collected the most statuettes as the Academy Of Science Fiction, Horror & Fantasy Films handed out its Saturn Awards Wednesday night in Burbank.

“Avengers” took home honors for top science fiction film; Joss Whedon as director; Clark Gregg as supporting actor; and for special effects — that kudo going to the team of Janek Sirrs, Jeff White, Guy Williams and Dan Sudick.

Clark Gregg have the night’s most impassioned acceptance: “I’m such a sci-Fi geek,” he confessed, remembering that when he first played Agent Colson in “Iron Man” “I was as geeking out to meet Robert Downey Jr. as to talk to Tony Stark.”

Congrats to Joss, Clark and the cast & crew of The Avengers. All of them deserve credit for creating a magnificent film.

Why aren't the geek Oscars televised? That's an awards show that I would actually watch.

Happy 10th Anniversary to The debut of Earth's Mightiest Heroes first Big Screen adventure.

To this day, this film remains one of the top 5 MCU entries for me and holds a very special place in my heart.

It got the banter, team dynamics, villain, CGI AND score right and most of the motives you hear in IW/EG were introduced by Silvestri and heard first in this film.

I will never forget going out of the cinema with a huge grin on my face.

I just rewatched this again today and I gotta say I still think this is the best Avengers film. I like that it’s a smaller roster of characters and that each character gets their own moments. I do think the dialogue is witty and funny without the humor being juvenile. I don’t think any of the Avenger’s films after this topped the action sequences in here. The battle in New York just has so many cool little moments and you can sense that there was a clear vision in terms of how it should be shot. It doesn’t feel like the action sequences were handled by a different team of people.

Also, the visual effects still hold up. This is the last time the Iron Man armor looked real to me.

I mean...this was the last time we saw Iron Man in a movie, lol :D

I thought the armor VFX still looked good in Iron Man 3 but that was pretty much it. Once the shift was made to retractable helmets from the open faceplate it all went downhill.
