Not a fan of the design, to me it feels a hint of orientalism. Fingers crossed the story is good though.

I would've preferred actual finger rings on the Mandarin instead of bracelets. At least give the character his defining feature and powers.

Also which character is Awkafina meant to be? Does she have an action figure?

Shang Chi's costume looks rather bland. I wish there were more gold elements on the red costume and more similar to his classic 70s outfit.

Looking through the Leaks, It seems that the movie will be leanin heavily into Chinese Mythology.

Im mixed on this. On one hand, Its cool to see.

On the other hand, Its stealing from Iron Fist who is heavily reliant on Chinese Lore.

Well if the Rings belonged to a Dragon, then it will make sense for them to be too big for a humans fingers. Hence why he wears them as Bracelets.

Im sure they will have his powers.

Awkwafina is an original character called Katy. If I got to guess She's, Shang Chi's American Sidekick.

Death Dealer looks interesting, though I'm not so sure on the face paint. Xialing has the same problem Shang Chi does in that her costume is quite bland. Kinda looks like she could be a waitress in a restaurant. I also think that Mandarin's costume should be green and not blue.

So it looks like Xialing is the MCU's merged version of Sister Dagger and Zheng Boa Yu.

I have a prediction on how this film will connect to the regular MCU. It's not a major connection but it's one nonetheless:

the fighting tournament will have a guest appearance from GSP as Batroc, whom we saw in the first episode of the Falcon and the Winter Soldier

It doesn't need to be "hey let's have such and such Avenger appear in this movie." The MCU connection could be something to what I just described.

Tony Leung has been cast to play the real Mandarin in the Shang-Chi movie, following Iron Man 3’s disappointing fake-out. Maybe he’ll be the MCU’s next big villain.

Yeah I doubt that. The Mandarin doesn't strike me as someone who would unite the Avengers to fight him. Kang would be that big bad that would require the Avengers to unite, but not the Mandarin.

What are the chances of RDJ appearing in a cameo in this movie for a flashback to IM1 or IM3? It could show how the Mandarin was behind certain things before and his reaction to Iron Man. It would be an oversight to completely divorce him from his comic book origins and his status as Iron Man's arch enemy.

I'd say they're both equally iconic and have both been around since the 1960s. Mandarin was Iron Man's arch enemy and Kang was probably the Avengers' most common foe after Ultron. The top 3 Avengers villains on a consistent basis would be Ultron, Kang and Zemo (and the Masters of Evil).

I woudnt count on it. I thaught there were some rumors he has a cameo (aka a deleted scene from Civil War) in Black Widow. RDJ is too expensive, even for a cameo. I think the chances for a cameo of Ben Kingsley are higher But they will mention Tony for sure.

Well there could be existing footage from IM or IM3 that wasn't used or alternate takes. Maybe they had some of the same scenes filmed from different angles which weren't used in the final films. Do Marvel have to pay RDJ again for using existing footage that was shot before in a new film?
