X-Men - Part 8

I'm up for a new volume of X-Men under Duggan. Curious what book Hickman's getting though. I'd love to see Moira X happen.

I prefer Williams getting another title over Howard getting X-Corp. Between the two Williams' writing for Reign of X has been much better.
Well they both stink and are both getting a new book, so its unfortunate on both fronts

Seriously another numbering restart for Adjectiveless...

This will probably feature the main X-Men roster.

Anyway I'm tired of the "Unlimited X-Men" approach to Adjectiveless, so it'd be nice to follow a core X-Men team again. Hopefully the title will be good.

Duggan's X-team has been revealed.

Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Synch, Sunfire, Wolverine(Laura), and Polaris, the winner of the fan vote

Good line up, imo.

That is a good lineup. I'm particularly happy that

Rogue has finally been saved from Excalibur.

I mean, characters can be in multiple books.

Well that is disappointing. Not so much the first character, but the second one.

Oh don't get me wrong...

I wouldn't have mind Polaris just staying with X-Factor instead of being on this team, but we'll see what happens.

I like that Rogue and Polaris are in the team!

Sunfire as a X-Man again since he quit in the 70s is eXciting!

I like Synch as the newest X-Man.

I'm kinda tired reading team titles like eXcalibur, X Force, adjectiveless and Marauders for over a year now, and none of those books featured the actual X-Men team. So I'm hoping this new status quo would at least last for 15 issues. If its good maybe I'd stop reading the others.

I'm not sure how Excalibur isn't an X-team.

They called themselves eXcalibur, not THE X-Men. Its pretty straight forward. Just like the Marauders don't call themselves as the X-Men.

If they are, does that make Rictor and Apocalypse members of the X-Men now? Its a splinter team or another mutant team.

Marvel just recently released a list of official X-Men in Swords of X handbook. eXcalibur members like Rictor and Apocalypse handbook aren't listed as X-Men, fyi.

Sword was wonderful this week. A whole issue of taking Fabien Cortez down a peg. It was wonderful. It was also nice to see Jean in her 90's costume. Was also nice to see Vought actually do stuff. And fun bit with Xavier. Khora of the Burning Heart is really cool, though kind of surprised to see Sword is the first one to pick up an Arrakoan. But her design is really cool, and I expect how her powers work will look really cool. I look forward to Cortez being a petty bench.

Way of X was amazing. I really loved it. Just great to have such a Kurt focused issue. And I am loving the exploration of how Krokoan culture is evolving, with the New X-men kids and the slang and views on death. And they really portrayed the Crucible as more disturbing than when we first saw it. I do kind of have to laugh that the apparent need to obscure Xavier's face also applies to Charles Jr. I do wonder, if based on the ending and them seeming to actually be confronting the no precog rule, if this book is a new version of the Moira X book and Hickman's new book is something else.

Okay, I stopped reading X-Force today. Im just not enjoying these titles that feel like "side titles" especially now that they've announced an actual X-Men roster for the summer. It just made these titles redundant to me. I don't like Quentin Quire at all and this latest issue being Quentin heavy just made me finally quit.

I'd stop reading Marauders and eXcalibur in the neXt month or two, once I feel like I'm ready to quit reading them.

Marvel's finally revealing the other looks

Some really fun outfits in there, and I like most of them, but that golden Xavier is pretty bad ngl. I like the whole concept behind mutant fashion though!

Super late, but in case anyone else has been off the grid and missed it. :D

Well, guess I didn't have to worry about X-factor sharing characters.

X corp has an appealing line up. Multiple Man, M and Angel. But I'm not willing to commit reading every issue.

The X-Men Gala variant looks the best.

Good riddance! The book wasnt good
It's not really canceled as such. The X-Factor team (probably excluding Polaris) is just moving to Leah Williams' limited series.
The Trial of Magneto

Otherwise, I'm actually really looking forward to the Hellfire Gala. Since it's only one month the pacing should be MUCH better than X of Swords. From what they've teased so far it's pretty dense and a lot of potentially interesting reveals. Can't wait!

I for one loved X-Factor, so I'm really bummed its ending. I feel like the conclusion to the Morrigan storyline was really rushed due to the delays from COVID running up against the Hellfire Gala event.

I've been avoiding Way of X because of my initial pushback to Kurt "losing his religion." But I keep hearing amazing things, so I'll probably have to check it out. I tried X-Corp, and while I love the line-up, it hasn't hooked me so far.

I still need to pick up my books. But I've seen spoilers and the solicitations, but I am very, very intrigued that Way of X is bringing back THAT character.

Onlsaught

With the amount of Mutant related comic books, some will eventually go. They'd be relaunching X-Factor again in less than 5 years.

Finally picked up my books.

Way of X was good. I really love its focus. I did find it interesting that Legion was the second mutant Xavier didn't want restored, after Orphan Maker, for similar safety reasons. Loved that Legion was able to restore himself, though. Nemesis pushing his mushrooms on Cortez was great.

I'm thinking Cassandra Nova may have been involved with the Orchis project and bringing back Onslaught

X-men was good. Nice to see Orchis back. And Nimrod functional. Good news, I think I figured out what Hickman's new book is going to be.

Rushed? I feel the opposite as that arc dragged. We've been dealing with it for like 5 issues and its STILL not resolved. I dont think this was rushed at all and COVID didnt have an impact on it as the story
