Playstation The Official Playstation 5 Thread

I’ve bought and played games released 20 years ago on Steam on Windows over the years.

With all the money Sony has received from PlayStation Plus subscriptions a portion of that money should be keeping that store infrastructure alive but certainly they aren’t doing that anymore.

Got to love insomniac games. They said they where going to have a update to ratchet and clank for 60 fps in April well its out now so a little early and miles Morales got a free suit update today.

Free stuff are awesome. I wish they would offer Killzone, The Order 1886, Infamous First Light as free games for their Stay at Home campaign.

Even though I appreciate Playstation giving away some games for free and I enjoyed playing Ratchet & clank. There isn't a game that they offered for free that I am on the fence buying like The Order and Infamous First Light. I finished Journey and Abzû in two days, and I always see those titles in the retail store and they aren't just for me. I
already have Horizon Zero Dawn / Uncharted trilogy a long time ago. The rest like Rez Infinite, Enter the Dungeon and Thumper I uninstalled immediately. While I still haven't uninstall The Witness and Subnautica, they are also aren't just for me. The Witness bored me and it doesn't help that both games are in first person perspective. Maybe I'd continue playing them but who knows. I'm interested to play Killzone but its just not something I'm willing to pay for since its a1st person shooter. But it looks interesting from the walkthroughs, so I'd play the entire campaign if given for free.

Infamous First Light has already been free once before on playstation plus.
But then again, so was Ratchet and Clank.

WTF is that? Haha.

It looks like another survival horror first person shooter game.

In another subject, I feel like its perfectly fine now that I don't have the ps5 yet. I use my ps4 regularly for streaming and gaming, and I don't want it collect dust because of ps5 that barely have any new games for 2021 that interest me.

I'm now getting Miles Morales and RE8 for ps4 because I don't have too many already available games in my waitlist now and its just matter of time before they are all discounted (those two, Ghosts, TLOU, MK11, Hitman 3). And out of the upcoming 2021 games that are now announced for the ps5, the only game that I'm interested in is Horizon 2. While I'm also getting Mass Effect trilogy and Prince of Persia for the ps4. So yeah I feel kinda silly now for complaining before when I don't need a ps5 right now. Sony should fiX the supply issues, in the meanwhile I should enjoy ps4 games.

Remaking a 2013 game in 2018?

Yeah I don’t think we need a remastered version of Last of us when the ps4 version works perfectly fine

something definitely shady going on with Sony this generation. I feel like the success of the PS4 has made them a little cocky

The part about Bend Studio and Days Gone really made me mad. The game was really good but I felt like they could have really refined it and made something truly great with a sequel. Only to end up being denied and having to support Naughty Dog multiplayer games. Wonder if that's why Bend had those higher ups leave last year.

I've been a Sony guy since PS1 but their decisions lately are really turning me off.

Remake, not remaster. Which is worse....

I mean, as the Japanese market dries up, they have to relay on megablockbusters more. So, essentially falling to the same AAA development cycle as other studios.

I personally don't believe the rumors about days gone 2 not being made and about the last of us being remade. Not only is last of us only 8 years old but it already got a remaster on ps4 but we will see.

TLOU 1 is an awesome game but it feels too early for a remake, especially when there is already a remaster. Seems like a waste of resources.

I’m surprised if this is true about no Day’s Gone sequel. I had always thought that game was super-popular for a game that wasn’t one of their top tier releases. It doesn’t paint a rosy picture of Bend’s future prospects if so.

After the Japan Studio downscaling it seems possible that studios like Bend and Media Molecule will have to keep looking over their shoulder as Sony goes on this blockbuster or bust philosophy. That can create amazing games but might stifle creativity at lower levels and deny unique games getting made.

I thought Days Gone had some fun elements in it, namely the hordes, but it was entirely too long. A good deal of the first half of the game felt like padding and it took too long to get to the meat of the story. That being said, I’d play a sequel if they made it.

Remaking TLOU on PS5 is even more pointless than the PS5 GTA remaster. Surely Naughty Dog’s efforts would be better placed in TLOU3 or an Uncharted Lost Legacy sequel.

Yeah not interested in a remake of a 2013 game. I'd rather see a sequel especially in a franchise with only 2 games.

The Days Gone sequel not happening is confusing as it seems totally in line with Sony's "blockbuster" feel, it sold well, and is recently ported to pc. I thought the latter is to attract pc players for the sequel eXclusive to the ps5. The reviews aren't great, but that doesn't mean it couldn't improve things for the sequel.

Then the Uncharted reboot (thankfully is now scrapped) is also confusing. Why hand it out to another studio? That would only lead to people complaining that its not a Naughty Dog production if it sucked.

All of these reports sound like a mess. Personally speaking, Days Gone 2 is not a loss to me. I'd prefer a new non horror ip over another zombie game. Days Gone is still in my waitlist and I'm not in a hurry to play it. Maybe Bend Studio could work on something new and something more eXciting? But right now, the studio hit two major road blocks which is alarming for them.

PlayStation Store: March 2021 top downloads

Crazy how GTA V is still making these lists. I wish more studios would release more open world games set in a vibrant modern city. Watch Dogs Legion is also in the list, but thats like the only 2020 game that I played that it similar to GTA V. While Mafia remake is set in the 1930s/40s.

I loved GTA III and Vice City, dabbled in San Andreas, never got into IV and tried V but I just could not get into it either. Don't know what changed. Maybe me but how can GTA V still be that popular?

Because of the popular presence of Grand Theft Auto Online my dood.

I never cared for that which is probably why it is so popular. I just prefre the single player games.

GTA Online is popular.... but seriously there are so many free to play games for playstation that don't require ps plus. So I doubt GTA Online is the main sell for the game in 2021. It could be 50 50. Half might be buying it just for the base game.

I personally don't believe the rumors about days gone 2 not being made and about the last of us being remade. Not only is last of us only 8 years old but it already got a remaster on ps4 but we will see.
Itd be great if both rumours are fake.
