I hope a good casting in their 30 for the Cyclops'generation

A casting making me remember San Frnasisco/Nation X era

Apologies for the long post. Big cast incoming.
Denzel Washington as Charles Xavier. Xavier would be much less of a focus in my version, so they can go for an A-list actor. I'm imagining Xavier as someone who grew up amidst the civil rights movement of the 60s. In my version, Xavier and Magneto would not be contemporaries, instead Xavier would look up to the older Magneto. I'd also like to see them explore the more morally ambiguous sides of Xavier's character.

favorite-things-audra-hr5.jpg

Viggo Mortenson as Magneto. Again, Magneto would be much less of a focus than he was in the Fox films, so they can go for a big name. Also I personally am massively against the idea of removing the Holocaust from Magneto's backstory. Yes there are other historical genocides they could use, but to me it just wouldn't be the same. There are numerous plot devices they could use to explain his lack of ageing. Suspended animation, mutant experiments, quantum shenanigans etc. In my version, Magneto would be a violent revolutionary figure in the 60s who took a young Charles under his wing before their falling out. Instead of being close friends, Magneto would be more of a father figure to Charles. Have him disappear for decades and resurface in the modern day.

My pick for Cyclops would be George Mackay.

Cynthia Erivo as Storm. Loved her in Bad Times at the El Royale, and I like the idea of Storm being a more mature adult compared to the teens/young adults of the rest of the team.

giphy.gif

Zoey Deutch as Jean Grey. She's great in pretty much everything.

tumblr_inline_p7kr6zGsk21sccn28_250.gifv

Milo Gibson as Wolverine. Honestly I haven't seen him act in anything but he looks the part and I like the meta casting of Mel Gibson's son playing the role that Mel was heavily rumoured for back in the day.

Header_2153594_16.9-1024x576.jpg

Daniel Radcliffe as Beast. I know he's some people's pick for Wolverine but I think he fits Beast better.

Harry Styles as Angel. He really impressed me in Dunkirk, and he could easily pull off the pretty boy with angst.

Kaitlyn Dever as Kitty Pryde.

Thomas Mann as Iceman. Me, Earl and the Dying Girl is one of my favourite movies ever and Mann was excellent in it.

WBsJ.gif

Kurt Ostlund as Colossus. I like him in Snowpiercer and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in that show. He has the look and he's an appropriate age to be a love interest for Kitty.

Ryan Potter as Nightcrawler. OK yes this is pretty lazy typecasting as I'm essentially imagining his Kurt as just a blue version of Beast Boy, but just because a casting is obvious doesn't mean it's bad.

Vanessa Kirby as Emma Frost.

c3530d97c13b8d06f1f5214ceff173f1.gif

O'Shea Jackson Jr. as Bishop. He's great in Ingrid Goes West.

tumblr_palesfNPir1x6j2uvo2_500.gifv

LaKeith Stanfield as Gambit. LaKeith is just effortlessly cool without being over the top or cartoonish, and I'm sure he could easily pull off the accent.

sub-buzz-9375-1597158391-2.jpg

My personal pick for Rogue is Billie Lourd. She was fantastic in Booksmart. She stole the entire movie with just 6 minutes of screen time. Also, although I do not watch American Horror Story, her character in the most recent season is basically a Rogue cosplay, so she could pull off the classic 90s look.

tumblr_puhpkdEu4w1tx7ctgo9_250.gifv

Lucy Liu as Mystique. She's my favourite part of Kill Bill, and she's also great in Elementary. I would really like to see them explore Mystique's complicated relationships with Nightcrawler and Rogue.

tumblr_m2g78srz7y1qetniqo1_500.gif

Thomasin McKenzie as Polaris. She's great in Jojo Rabbit, plus she looks as if she could be believably related to Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Johnson.

b370d5d97f0616b66330644ddfa3118d.gif

Milo Ventimiglia as Cable. Always loved Milo since Heroes and I think he could play a gruff badass soldier from the future.

giphy.gif

Jon Hamm as Mr. Sinister. Another obvious choice, but that's because he'd be a great choice in my opinion.

BelovedEminentIguanodon-size_restricted.gif

Pilou Asbæk as Sabretooth. Yes Euron was a bad character, but I think he gave a good performance in spite of the writing, and he's also really good in Overlord.

Linda Hamilton as Destiny.

Craig would no doubt be good, but I worry if he’d come across to similar to Fassbender?

Whoever is cast as Magneto, you need to consider Xavier as well—especially in terms of age. For example, I like David Oyelowo for Xavier and paired him against Oscar Isaac as Magneto. That’s dashed now though the Moon Knight casting news.

Courtney B Vance, 60 would be a great Xavier:

And pit him against Giancarlo Esposito, 62 as Magnus:

I do think you can keep Magneto's Judaism and make him black. Just make him a Ethiopian refugee who escaped the Military junta known as "The Derg" as a youth to a camp in Kenya. He could easily develop a hatred for humans based in his time at the Kenyan Refugee camp.

Bingo.

If you want to update Magneto's backstory while keeping his first-hand experience with genocide, an African origin makes a lot of sense.

Yes. The Derg took place in 1974, so if he was a youth at the time, he could be in his mid-late 50's in the modern day MCU. If you kept him as a Holocaust survivor, he would be in his 90's. Sure you can freeze him, but we already saw that with Cap and Bucky. Does Kevin Feige want to do that to Magneto?

I just think it's a really interesting idea. One of the better suggestions for updating a character's backstory.

The only real negative to it is it likely means no biological relationship to Wanda and Pietro, but the MCU has managed just fine thus far without that relationship existing.

They could include that relationship if Mags was put on ice before he meets Magda.

Or he could be black and jewish and from the holocaust time.

Love this. Especially Thomas Mann and Billie Lourd

Would Kevin Feige want to cryo-freeze a third character after having already done that to Steve and Bucky?
I don't know. But I'd prefer either he be trapped in a prison made of his own electromagentic field and he stays there from like 1988 or 1989 to present day and in that field he ages slower or something like that. Or he was given an experimental super soldier serum by hydra, and because he was a mutant already, the serum didn't give him super strength, so hydra thought it was a failure, but what it did do was alter his metabolism and he ages slower.

Or how about instead of going in, he comes out of the field in '88-89, then does all the other stuff like meeting Magda and fathering Wanda & Pietro.

Well the movie will be some 10 years after TWS so a third character that much later would be a big or frequent/recent trend.

what if Mag's was part of the same sleeper cell type of program as WS (where he's spend long periods of time in the cryo-freeze) if he was discovered by Hydra at a young age in the Holocaust to have powers, it'd make since that they'd recruit him into the program

after TWS for the time period where Cap was looking for Bucky after he went missing, what if Bucky was going around to any other known bases (that kept people frozen) and was freeing them... which would explain why he only recently resurfaced

yes, it's re-using the same backstory as Bucky, but it's more of a way to connect it to the bigger per-established universe

could even say that his early encounter with Xavier was when he was on a missions (under the control of hydra) cause that was the only time Xavier could detect him with Cerebro...when Xavier tracked him down to confront him , that's when he got hurt (putting him in the chair) but he could sense the mind control and knew it wasn't Mag's fault... tho, after Mag's went back into cryo he wasn't able to find him again to try to save him

Jared Keeso as Wolverine is a must. I also think Giancarlo Esposito will be either Magneto or Prof X, but I'm hoping its the latter because I'd like to see him as one of the good guys for a change.

Cyke : Zac Efron
Wolverine : James Howlett
Jean Grey : Lily James or Holland Roden
Emma Frost : Jessica McNamee
Storm : Deborah Ayorinde or Keke Palmer
Colossus : Florian Munteanu
Kitty Pryde : Maia Mitchell or Violett Beane
Iceman : Colton Haynes
Jubilee : Ashley Liao
Gambit : Nick Bateman
Rogue : Katherine McNamara
Angel : Liam Hemsworth
Psylocke : Kaitlyn Leeb or Sonoya Mizuno
Magneto : Javier Bardem or Daniel Craig
Xavier : Bryan Cranston
Beast as full CGI

they should tell mutants exist since long time, as soon as possible. Maybe in Eternals
Fury already stated mutants and radioactives bugs exist in a 2008 deleted scene

I could actually see Daniel Craig as Charles Xavier.

He probably wouldn't be people's first choice , and he doesn't spring immediately to mind the way Stewart did in the 90s.

Then again, no one thought of McAvoy for a young Charles, and by the same token, most fans didn't think of Craig as Bond when he was cast in 2004.

I know people are used to seeing him as a an intense man of action , but he can actually play quite thoughtful, cerebral , charming, and charismatic.

If there's anything i've learned, those who tend doubt Craig's ability to inhabit a role, tend to be proven wrong. I'd love to see him playing a mentor and leader role for change.

As for Magneto, I could see Viggo Mortensen as an equally charismatic, sympathetic, yet warrior Magneto.

I know no one is going to agree with me on this, but Christian Navarro as Wolverine

christian-13-reasons-why-s04-tony-leather-jacket-550x550h.jpg

He has the look, the acting chops, and the physique. I really hope they go with a comic accurate height, too. Not every single superhero star has to be a tall man.
