Cable Cord Cutters Thread: Sling, Hulu, YouTube TV, Netflix, and more!

Viacom on Hulu is live.

Yeah...considering in the last year and a half, they've had disputes with Fox, Peacock, AT&T and now Google, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Roku is the problem here. Being a top streamer has made them greedy. They used to be the "brand agnostic" open platform. That was their whole appeal. Now they can't go 6 months without withholding something others are offering because of contract disputes.

I can't believe how stupid they're being about this since Google has a competing streaming device that is arguably better.

While I'm completely clueless about most of what is written here, I decided to add Hulu (Mom liked Stargate SG1 and wanted to watch Atlantis) and ESPN+ to my Disney+ subscription. I also get Netflix aaaaaaaaaaaand Spectrum cable (but for cheap.....honest).

Okay I've tried Hulu Live with Viacom and I still like YouTube TV better, but I don't hate Hulu. It runs really well now and the picture quality is better than expected, and I have their on demand library plus Disney+/ESPN+. You still get more channels with YTTV while Hulu locks a lot of features and channels away with add ons.

So weird discovery on Fire TV. Alexa doesn't see the Viacom channels on Hulu Live and Hulu isn't listed as a live TV source unlike YouTube TV, Sling, and Philo. I wonder this will be fixed in a future update.

Maybe this belongs in the music forum, but I subscribed to Youtube Premium weeks ago which means I also have Youtube Music. And honestly... I prefer it over Spotify despite some interface problems. The sound quality is so much better and you can add music not found anywhere else as a audio file and you can use music from your device.

I got the 1 week free trial of Paramount+ and it doesn’t seem worth the $10. Not excited about the movie or TV show catalog. Pretty disappointed.

Roku is forcing an update that will cause YouTube TV to disappear.

So is Discovery + and HBO Max merging?
