MICHAEL KEATON RETURNS (or at least in discussion) AS BATMAN

I'll be intrigued to see what references, if any, they make to Hingle's Gordon and Gough's Alfred. I'd hope for some small measure of tribute by way of reference, but then this is a Flash film, first and foremost.

I could see them doing a photo of Alfred on the wall somewhere, maybe a passing reference to the former Commissioner on TV, or a newspaper clipping or something.

I hope so! The director seems to already be paying homage to the OG manor even if it’s not the exact one so I would hope for a few references to the Keaton/Burton era even if in small doses.

Would be great to see some references to villians he faced after Returns. They should get Billy Dee Williams to do a cameo as old Two-Face. Would be great to see him in some news footage or in a prison cell.

Still thinking maybe Keaton is Eobard Thawne shapeshifted/disguised as OG Batman. Unless they announce someone else cast.

I really don’t see Thawne showing up unless it’s a very brief tease. He doesn’t have to find out who killed his mother in this film. That mystery could be held on to.

I just don't see an other villain than reverse flash in this movie.

idk, don't you think we should've known who is playing Reverse Flash if he's in it?

Well... We don't know who the villain IS after all so maybe there will be a twist about reverse flash and his identity.

you might be right. it's really strange we don't know who the villain is or who's playing him/her.

I hope not. I will feel really cheated if I watch this film only for Keaton to not be the real Batman but an imposter.

What if there is no villain, and the only person who causes problems in the movie is The Flash himself?

Similar to how outside of Biff the only other person who caused problems in Back to the Future was Marty himself.

yeah, i would like that as well. i've always wanted Superhero flick without villains.

actually i thought about this possibility this morning and i think it would be forking interesting and brillant to go in this direction. A superhero movie without any villain. That would be something intriguing and ballsy.

But i don't think they will 'cause a son of bench kills Barry's mother after all and the murderer has to be adressed.

I’ve been in this boat for a min. I love the idea of it

Its not just the villain, still a lot of casting we don’t know about. Only Barry, his parents, Iris, Supergirl, two Batmans, other minor roles unknown. Ok no Cyborg. But especially if its based on Flashpoint there are way more characters. Theyre already filming maybe just keeping some under wraps. Like if Grant Gustin is gonna show up not to give it away.

It definitely would.

Well, they could have the murderer but instead of the Reverse Flash or any other big name villain the murderer could be a random person similar to Joe Chill.

Actually not having the Reverse Flash or any other big name villain could go with what Muschietti said about the movie won't be what fans are expecting.

Also not having the RF and especially not the RF disguised as Keaton's Batman would avoid a rehash of Flash S1 with RF as the murderer and disguised as Wells.

So, what do you hope Keatons Batsuit looks like? The 89 suit? Returns suit? Mix of both? Or something new, entirely?

I’m hoping it’s a mix of 89 and Returns, with a little of the Panther suit from Forever mixed in.
I hope he can turn his head in the cowl, but still does the dramatic full body turn.

I see your point and i thought about it to be honest as i dig it but i don't think it would work. It would remove the unexplained death case leading to the imprisonment of his father if it's just a casual killer.

I won't expecting the same thing i read in the comics and i'm totally cool with that. But i think zoom/reverse flash will be there somehow, with possibly a twist about his identity for example. Maybe i'm wrong. Can't wait to see Muschetti ideas and how it will surprise us.

I actually did a Beyond concept a few years ago that honored the Burton/Schumacher films

A modified version of this could work and could be a proto-beyond suit, or (if we get a beyond) I'd like to see a rami-type treatment to the suit
