Justice League Ray Fisher - WB Investigation Updates Thread

The threat is bad enough no matter the scene in question. But it really is funny the boob plant is the hill Joss chose to die on. It takes a special kind of narcissist and perv factor to make this as big of a deal. And to someone with as much clout as Gal no less.

I've said it multiple times, he seemed too focused on female empowerment stories. He's a guy, so what was he trying to work through?

Ah yes, because we cant have this to be about Gal Gadots experience and maybe a discussion about how people like Whedon, who paint themself as fighters for female empowerment, look down on women.

Nope, because Ray Fisher again demands attention.

All this over a boob plant gag that wasn't funny the first time he used it in AOU. What a creep.

Yeah, the joke didnt work in AOU and people told him loudly so...yet he tried it again and even threatened someone over it? That man is really messed up.

So Gadot’s answer collaborated with THR’s Kim Marsters report, and backing up part of Ray’s accusations.

Therefore Hamada contacting Ray and using Whedon as firewall to protect Johns and Emmerich and using a role in Flashpoint as silence fee is fine and Ray is a drama queen. Because that’s how Hollywood works.

:funny:

kinda reminded me of Rose McGowen exposing Weinstein and she was the crazy one disrupting the corrupt Hollywood rituals

Don't get why this is surprising, we knew Gal had issues with Whedon and she handled it right then and there. And I take it Ray no longer sees Berg as part of the problematic individuals since he apologized to him.

Emmerich is going out next, lol.

Berg is fine now, even though he was involved in the Frosty Snowman hoax :funny: that’s all it takes, imagine the positive PR Hamada and Emmerich would have enjoyed if they release a statement apologizing for Whedon’s behavior and promise a reform to toxic work culture (which they never need to fulfill :funny:) and re-state their BLM commitment then announce the black Superman movie

They’d rather go to Netflix then doing all that :funny:

They're not in the same position as Berg who's had no affiliation with the DCEU for years. Though it kind of still makes him look bad since he "categorically denied" the claims first, then apologized to Ray later, confirming it was true. With Hamada and Emmerich, both have been publicly defended by Sarnoff and WB on multiple occasions, if they issue apologies too that would make literally everyone look bad which is why they won't say anything except for more public denials by the company or the investigator making more statements how she found no evidence of obstruction attempts or racist comments.

The more I hear about this, the more I realize what profound effect AOU's reception must have had on this guy's confidence. Given what we've heard from the Buffy and Angel cast he clearly seems to have been horrible to work with before that too, but sounds like the reaction to that movie truly did a number on him. How could it not. Not trying to sympathize with him or anything, he just seems awfully insecure and probably wanted JL to be his redemption story of sorts, but decided to throw his weight around again and ended up being the exact opposite instead.

I have a different reading of it. I think Whedon must have accepted the JL gig knowing full well that, even if it rocked, it would still be seen as someone else's movie, just one he helped fix. I doubt he went into it expecting it would bring him anything that AOU hadn't. My guess is, WB semi-begged him to do JL bc they knew his name would bring audience confidence, and he said yes to earn clout with the studio long-term, make it his new home after Marvel. It was just supposed to be a quick gig before Batgirl, and he thought he'd either ace it relatively easily or that it would be seen as someone else's failure.

I've been reading Whedon's interviews for many years now, always thought of him as the most joyful you can be while being creative, someone who did big and lasting things with small budgets and understood his craft the way few people do. A "friend" Hollywood guy, the kind of showrunner that gets invited to his cast's weddings. It's been such a disappointment to read about the trail of damage he's been leaving over the course of his career. I think Ray's been riding this Whedon wave somewhat opportunistically, using it to air flimsy grievances over not having gotten the studio experience he wanted. But if Whedon really was this much of an ahole to Gadot and possibly others, Ray deserves all the credit for outing him when it's likely that no one else would have. I feel sorry for Whedon's kids, whom he'd mention on interviews often. What a mess of a situation, to see your dad fall from grace this irrevocably.

Actually what happened was Gal didn't have the clout she has now so when this happened she went to Zack and Debbie for advice and Zack and Debbie handled it by bringing it to the attention of the WB and told her to come back to them if there were anymore issues. Remember this movie was being reshoot just as Wonder Woman was becoming a hit. So she didn't have clout yet and took the matter to people she trusted and they dealt with it.

His career has come full circle as that is how he made a name for himself in the industry. Fixing up scripts for films like Speed and Toy Story and now getting hired to fix/finish another film led to his downfall.

I always wonder if Ray ever tried the Gal route of going to the Snyders when all this was going down. I get the vibe he went straight to HR and then got the slap on the wrist from Johns, kicking off this entire series of events.

WB takes the bait when Ray tweets about Hamada or occasionally Emmerich, but I don't believe they've ever publicly defended Johns before. They stated once they were still in business with him after Ray claimed that he will be following suit after Whedon, but I don't think they've publicly addressed anything Ray has said about him regarding the abuse allegations. Unless you want to count the investigator saying she found no evidence of racial animus or insensitivity towards disabilities.

If this threat is the comments we heard before then it shows how sensitive Ray really is.

Didn't he say Geoff will be following suit like Whedon 6 months ago, is that still happening?
