Anthony Ramos Talks His 'Transformers' Film - Variety

“I just started ‘Transformers,’ so I’ll talk to you hopefully in a few months and I’ll let you know which one ended up being harder,” Anthony Ramos, star of both of the films, told Variety’sMarc Malkin at the Tribeca Festival premiere of “In the Heights.”

Ramos will lead Paramount Pictures’ next “Transformers” film, which he noted would be different than previous installments in terms of diversity.

“It was Shia LaBeouf, Mark Wahlberg and Hallie Steinfeld and [now] me, he said. It’s very different. Dominique Fishback — it’s very different. ‘Transformers’ has transformed!”

The actor added he is excited for fans to see the film, which is being directed by Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed II”).

“Steven Caple Jr. is a visionary, I cannot wait for people to see this man flex and really show everybody the fullness of his glory,” Ramos said. “We got some things cooking up for y’all, y’all don’t even know.”

I hope it's not trash and the human characters aren't as unlikable as the previous movies.

Transformers 7 Plot To Take Place In 1992? - Transformers News - TFW2005

TRANSFORMERS 7 Adds SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE And DEXTER Star Luna Lauren Velez (Exclusive)

In The Heights and Hamilton star Anthony Ramos was recently added to the seventh instalment in the long-running franchise as a character Collider has reported will be "a flawed and vulnerable hero who has made mistakes in his life and is eager to redeem himself with the help of Optimus Prime."

Now, we know who's playing his mom!

Talking to us about her new movie Rogue Hostage (which is now available to watch in select theaters and On Demand after being released on June 11), star Luna Lauren Velez (Dexter, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) confirmed that she recently boarded the cast of the seventh Transformers movie.

"I'm doing Transformers 7 which I'm very excited about," Velez told us earlier today. "I play Anthony Ramos' mom in that film, so there's some exciting stuff coming up."

When we put it to her that it must be incredibly exciting to board a big budget franchise like Transformers, she added: "It really is. I have to confess that I haven't seen any of the films, so to come in a project like this at this moment was really great. I'm excited about that. It's going to be fun stuff."

We don't have a release date for Transformers 7 yet, but it's clearly putting together a fantastic cast. Production is expected to take place in Montreal, and Ramos has previously confirmed his involvement. We'll bring our full interview with Luna to you soon, including some intel on what Rio Morales will be getting up to in the highly anticipated Into the Spider-Verse sequel.

So this is Stephen Caple's follow up to Creed II?

Truck driver posted this image on Facebook of her hauling what is supposed a G1-inspired Optimus alt-mode for the film.

Why 1992? That's so random.
For the same reason Captain Marvel took place in the '90s and why Stranger Things takes place in the '80s. That sweet, sweet nostalgia dime. But it's also possible that this is more of a sequel to Bumblebee, which took place in 1987, so setting it a few years after that makes sense.

Also, you do have to take into account that a lot of young people’s very first introductions to Transformers was with the Generation 2 line of toys in 1993, a year after when this film is supposed to take place. I still have the G2 Optimus Prime I got when I was six that my nephew occasionally plays with every time he comes over. They’re not just targetting GeeWunners, they’re also targeting the slightly younger demographic of people around my age (I’m 34) who didn’t discover Transformers until the early 90’s at around the same age their kids are now. This movie being set in 1992 is no accident.

Funnily enough, Bumblebee was set in 1987, which is the year I was born, so, in some strange way, I’ve always felt some spiritual connection to Transformers almost all my life.

So this definitely seems like a follow up to Bumblebee which to me is great news.

Transformers 7 Set Report: Beasts, G1 Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee - Transformers News - TFW2005

We at TFW have a very interesting report for you movie and Beast Wars fans on this Sunday night. Friend of the site and Transformers collector extraordinaire Protoman recently had the privilege of visiting the set of Transformers 7 in Montreal, Canada and was able to learn some interesting tidbits to share with fans via his livestream.

For one, Optimus Prime, as featured in the recent transportation images will indeed be a G1-inspired truck, while Bumblebee will also be present as an undisclosed yellow vehicle.

Other robotic cast members however are particularly interesting. In Protoman’s own words: “There are other characters I saw but they are all NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) and we cannot talk about them right now. But they are Beast-related.” He ended by reiterating with “There are Beasts in the movie, and you will be happy.”

So, there you have it. In addition to a G1-inspired Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, it sounds like, as has been rumored, Beasts will indeed be appearing in the upcoming film. Not much beyond that is known at this time, however, Protoman does sound optimistic about what he learned about the Beasts.

You can check out Protoman’s stream over on YouTube. We’d like to thank him once again for sharing all of this with us!

If BW Megatron appears, I want David Kaye to voice him or GTFO.

Between this, Transformers Kingdom, and the new comic, great time to be a fan of BW.

Bit wary of human characters and it taking place in the 90’s, though.

I guess that's the way for them to rope me back in....

I straight-up demand T-Rex Megatron.

So, most of the familiar Maximal Beast Wars characters, Optimus Prime in G1 mode and his origins of becoming a leader, a different conflict with different factions, possibly more Triple Changers, Arcee being the right hand of Optimus and a motorcycle, a good director who is a huge fan of G1, etc.

I want this movie yesterday.

Figured it was a bit of a long shot, but would have been nice to get him. Shame.

Wait a minute is this a sequel to Bumblebee or the last Knight because I'm totally confused by the introduction of the Maximals and Predacons to the mix especially since their suppose to be the descendants of The Autobots and Decepticons.
