The Book of Boba Fett The Book of Boba Fett General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

As it should be. Kind of like how CA: Civil War can techinically be looked at as Avenger 2.5. Boba being back is a huge deal and I like they're gonna take the time to establish him being back while moving the show forward.

Other than the elephant in the room about how he escaped the Sarlacc, I didn't really need a Boba "prequel series" and would rather they just continue the story from where Mando season 2 ends. So I'm glad that's what the article is saying.

Temuera Morrison’s Five Favorite Films << Rotten Tomatoes – Movie and TV News

Rotten Tomatoes: Will we see more of that Boba Fett, the hand-to-hand fighting Boba Fett, in the new series?

Morrison: Well, we can’t say too much, but we’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back. Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.

and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back.

I'm going to assume he means Return of the Jedi. And don't we know he's been in the Sarlaac lol

Unless he means in between those two films what he was up to.

Haha, yeah. Because War of the Bounty Hunters is already showing us what happens right after ESB:funny:

Makes sense, didn't they bring Rodriguez on as the executive producer/co-showrunner for Boba Fett?

I thought he was announced as co Exec Producer or Showrunner?

It sounds like it was expanded too, if they just finished shooting, it was supposed to be wrapped in Spring.

I recall that he was yes. I assume that means he will be writing or co-writing some episodes as well.

Yep, while The Mandalorian was once again delayed, and doesn't currently have a shooting date. Once again confirming this is really Mandalorian season 3 with a new lead. Though the corporate spin of "season 2.5" amuses me. Curious to see what they're going to do with this show though and I hope they figure out the next Mando season in time for a November 2022 release.

Great to hear that Rodriguez will be directing multiple episodes. Hoping he brings along some of his pals to the cast. I'm still holding out hope for a deep cut Bane Malar appearance.

With Rodriguez having much involvement than originally thought, it would indeed be cool to see some of his regulars make appearances. I can already picture Danny Trejo playing a grizzled crime lord or bounty hunter and Cheech Marin providing the voice of an alien or droid lol

Steve Buscemi stat!

Didn't someone do an impression of his voice for a robot on Clone Wars?

When did you find out that you were going to play such a pivotal role in the Boba Fett spinoff?

Ming Na Wen: We're so secretive about everything, right? We don't call the shows, the shows. The contracts are always under different names. The show is under different names.

When I was told I was going to become a series regular, I just automatically assumed it was for The Mandalorian season three. And then when the scripts came out, it said 301, 302, 303, 304. So I just assumed I was signing on – because it doesn't say The Mandalorian on my contracts.

So for two weeks, while I was working with Tem [Temuera Morrison] and Robert [Rodriguez], I had no idea that I was actually shooting the spinoff [laughs].

When the crew and the cast found out, they were dying. It was so crazy. So, yeah, it was wonderful to finally discover that I was shooting The Book of Boba Fett [laughs]. They call it The Mandalorian 2.5, in a way. So I wasn't all wrong [laughs].

:hehe:

Boba Fett's ship renamed by Disney in new LEGO set

An upcoming Star Wars LEGO set of the iconic ship is set to be released later this summer, but instead of calling it Slave I, the set is merely titled Boba Fett's Starship.

According to LEGO Star Wars Design Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen (via JediNews), the change came directly from Disney. "Everybody is [dropping the name]," Jens said. "It’s probably not something which has been announced publicly but it is just something that Disney doesn’t want to use any more."

How long before Disney removes all traces of slavery from the GFFA because its "too awkward" and "bad for PR"?

"Boba's Fett's ship" is not a name. If you don't want to use Slave 1 anymore, think of something else. Everyone is still going to refer to it as Slave 1, that's the name. I'm not going to call it "Boba's Fett's Ship".
