Malekith vs Bleeding Edge Iron Man:

Hmm. Tony has a lot of adaptive tech options here. OTOH, one thing he can't do is teleport. Malekith wasn't invincible or vastly higher firepower than Thor, but he did keep up with Thor and mostly shrug off anything other than having body parts teleported off. He was ultimately killed by having a space ship land on him, but it was a really, really big space ship.

Basically, everything about Malekith's capabilities is irksomely vague.

I'll say Malekith takes it 7/10, pretty much entirely on a mix of "firepower comparable to Thor" and "no clear idea of what Tony could do that's at all comparable to teleporting him elsewhere".

Its easy to forget how powerful Malekith was, given that he was such a dull character, but he has some damn impressive feats.

He was strong enough to block this fully-charged overhead swing from Mjolnir, which caused a massive shockwave:

And then sent Thor flying back hundreds of metres into the air simply by pushing right back:

Also tanky enough to take numerous strikes from Mjolnir with no damage:

Let's not forget that a single strike from a similarly blood-lusted Thor in Endgame OHKO'd Tony.

Honestly, the only clear advantage I see Tony having here is his ability to fly, which Tony isn't likely to make much use of here, since he typically rushes into CQC in 1v1 situations. The Nanotech armour is tough, but sustained attacks from the Aether will definitely wear it down, given that Thor was KO'd after an extended exposure to it, and Malekith has demonstrated the necessary durability to take attacks that have KO'd Tony.

The Lord of Svartalfheim takes this one.

Ok, granted it had the extra momentum from being smacked by Stormbreaker, but I don't think the gap between that and what Malekith was hit by are THAT enormous, given that Thor fully spun his body around to attack Malekith and he was in fact sent flying back FURTHER than Tony was.

I have an interesting idea for Phase 4...perhaps Phase 5. In A:AoU, Ultron mentions that before the Avengers, there were "Invaders." That was the famous superhero team consisting off: Captain America, Bucky, Namor, The Human Torch (synthetic) and his sidekick Toro. Now going back from A:AoU, in Iron Man 2, Tony is trying to find a cure for himself. He uses what seems to be a used Captain America shield in several pieces. No Coulson is in disbelief that Tony is using Cap's shield, but Captain America wakes up with the shield at the end of CA:FA. Now in BP we see T'Chaka, in Ant-man, Hank Pym and Janet are the Ant-Man and Wasp. For the longest time I wondered, if Cap was fighting in Europe, what happened with WWII in the Pacific? Was it being defended? The series of CA and TWS, showed that Isaiah Bradley had been injected with the Soldier Super Serum, met Bucky and was tested on for years. With Steve back in the 40's, he could be involved in events that needed his guidance but not his interference. There is a story here for the Invaders, either for Phase 4 or Phase 5.

Are you suggesting Cap/HT/Namor vs IM/BP/AM? :cwink:

Deadpool

Trading in his guns for the shield didn't prove to be that effective in his fight against a skilled fighter like Batroc. Now throw in Deadpool's enhanced abilities and firearms and it should be his fight to win.

Deadpool vs FalconCap:

Sam should take this pretty much every time. Yes, Sam fought to a draw in a close quarters fight against Batroc. Here's the thing- nothing in this scenario obligates Sam to fight Wade in close quarters. His gear still perfectly allows him to fight at a standoff range. Thus, he will do so, and Deadpool doesn't really have a response. Deadpool gets shot, exploded, and lasered from 1000 feet up, and makes some annoyed complaints about how regeneration just means that all these losses can hurt more.

( Also, to be honest, I strongly suspect that Batroc could deliver quite a fight to Deadpool at close quarters, himself. :p Deadpool would win eventually, but he'd have to leverage his "I can afford to take injuries, you can't" factor to do so. )

USAgent vs Luke Cage:

I mean, if this were Steve or Bucky, I'd give this victory to the super soldier easily. I like Luke, but aside from being bullet proof he's not really *that* superhuman, and he's especially not an especially skilled fighter in the grand scheme of things. The problem here is. . . John Walker *isn't* Steve or Bucky. Its not just that he is relatively experienced both as a non-powered skill superhero and in the usage of his just-acquired-yesterday powers. Its also that he is specifically sloppy. He makes mistakes, gets hot headed, and thinks he's better than he actually is. That is just a really bad position when facing an opponent who has enough durability that *he* can afford to take hits and make mistakes a lot more than you can.

Luke Cage 8/10. I give John a few victories mostly off of "He gets lucky, doesn't blow any wisdom checks, doesn't make any mistakes, and gets Luke into a SSS-backed sleeper hold to choke him out".

Power Man

Agree that John's temper and sloppiness would get the best of him and cost him the win in this fight. Luke might not be as quick as John but he would be able to match him in terms of power.
