Black Widow News and Speculation Thread

It will be interesting to read the reactions regarding Taskmaster and Yelena and how they fit into the current timeline.

A little disappointed to hear Taskmaster might not be all that great but hopefully he sticks around and makes other appearances in the MCU

What's worse is that Black Widow plays like a 135-minute teaser to an upcoming Marvel Disney+ series rather than an actual movie. The whole thing feels oddly pointless with a shoe-string plot that is more concerned with setting up Pugh's Yelena than telling Natasha's backstory. The entire family subplot doesn't work because there is little to no chemistry between the characters. I get what the writers were going for but the emotional hook isn’t there. Instead it feels forced. David Harbour & Rachel Weisz feel very out of place & are arguably miscast. As someone who enjoys action mixed with laughs, I found the humor in Black Widow to be so off putting. The jokes, as a whole, felt lazy, dated, and out of place. Some were actually cringeworthy. Don't get me started on the goofy Russian accents and the film's lackluster villain. With so many waiting years for a Black Widow movie, I couldn't help but feel cheated by this film. It fails to deliver the goods and is a slap in the face to the fans who thought they would finally get a badass Black Widow movie. Johansson and Black Widow both deserved better.

Ouch.

Do we know when the actual review embargo is lifted?

Besides all the laughs, there is some heart in Black Widow as well -- with great lessons about family that might have fans shedding some tears. Taskmaster is one of the best villains from Marvel Comics and is too underused in this film -- but looks great when in it.
After groundbreaking MCU shows like WandaVision, TFATWS, & Loki, Black Widow feels like a bit of a step backwards & would have worked better immediately after Endgame, as intended, or even after Civil War. That being said, it is a great set up for things to come!
David Harbour is another great addition to the MCU -- and delivers a lot of fantastic one liners that will have audiences laughing and begging for more from the Red Guardian!
Don't miss that end credit scene -- it truly delivers and will give CHILLS to Marvel fans!

Chills?
Could it be connected to Eternals?

Probably:

either a funeral scene for Nat that might include Clint Barton and maybe the Hulk or Yelena joining Thunderbolts/Dark Avengers
