Chris Hemsworth proves to be a real superhero in Armidale

It’s not every day a real-life superhero lends a hand to a worthy but struggling regional health service and yet actor Chris Hemsworth is a man of many surprises.

Armajun Aboriginal Health Service is a not-for-profit Aboriginal medical clinic in Armidale NSW whose funding battles means it has to make do with broken equipment and struggles to get band-aids.

It has seven GPs and treats mental health, drug and alcohol issues, as well as running a men’s health group, a women’s health group and a mums and bubs clinic.

So imagine the surprise of staff on Monday when in walked a man named Harry asking to speak with manager Rachael Kliendienst.

Turns out Harry was working on a nearby shoot for the National Geographic Channel and had some excess supplies and equipment that the production wanted to donate to a clinic in need.

Outside was a truck full of equipment including an X-ray light, electric bed, stainless steel medical trolley, thermometers and weight and height machine worth thousands of dollars.

Astonished staff teared up as Harry told them they could have the lot.

Shooting on a documentary about the human brain had just wrapped and producers and the host of the program – Hemsworth – had tasked him with finding a local worthy charity that could benefit from the medical equipment. Superheroes indeed.

This is the best shape I’ve seen Chris Hemsworth in

Hopefully we get to see fat Thor in the beginning of the movie and a full on 80s inspired training montage of him getting back in shape

They should have a montage where both Thor and Star-Lord try to get into shape. After a few weeks of intense training Star-Lord looks in the mirror and smiles upon seeing he's dropped a few pounds, until Thor suddenly walks in with his godly physique already fully restored.

2 Thor variants confirmed in the MCU so far.

Part of the TLT crew. :cwink:

In unrelated but still somewhat connected news here’s a look at Thor from the new God of War: Ragnarok PS5 game. I loved the previous God of War game and the Nordic mythology in that was so richly beautiful and intriguing, it just made the game that much better.

After getting a ton of Nordic mythology characters, worlds and nods in the previous game, now comes what was hinted at with great promise. The final Thor reveal and it’s kind of very accurate from a Nordic mythology stand point.

Some people seem to forget that the comic book characters of Thor, Odin, Loki, Frey’s, Hela, the Midgard Serpent, Surtur… it’s all taken from Nordic mythology which is more than 1000 year old.

The God of War art department clearly took some inspiration from Thorbowski.

The most recent Thor comic once again delved into Thor’s enigmatic ancestry.

Looking back at Thor’s origin story, in the very beginning it was established that Thor was the child of Odin and Gaea(an Earth Elder God). Frigga then raised Thor as her own son and eventually he became aware that he was actually adopted. Regardless and as far as Thor was concerned his father was Odin and his mother was always Frigga and he never really dealt with that situation differently.

Only recently Thor’s ancestry was revisited and it was finally revealed that Thor’s origin was actually the result of a relationship between Odin and the Phoenix and that the Gaea story was made to cover up his true identity. This now has been confirmed by the Phoenix herself and Frigga who will always love Thor the exact same way she’s always done.

Thor is now a hybrid god of sorts. He’s Not only Thor, the God of Thunder, Odinson, the future King of Asgard and wielder Mjolnir and of the Odin/Thor Force but he’s also the Phoenix son and the potential wielder of the Phoenix Force. This is a pretty big deal.

Thor’s real ancestry has massive implications for the character himself and the comic book world. I could see them exploring this particular angle in the MCU’s future as well. Here’s a snippet in the far-flung future of Old King Thor wielding the Phoenix Force aka King Phoenix.

So apparently this person did a bit of a render of how Thor’s armour might look like. Looks really cool and more regal looking than ever. Also comic book accurate and vintage set of colours, red, blue, yellow… plus the boots, the blue pants, the chainmail padorn… Love it!

They would both look awesome to me if we get anything like this.

Epic.

Looks very Eternalsy
Yeh it kind of reminds me of Ikaris suit. Specially because of that particular blue color.

The similarities don't seem accidental to me because the Eternals and the Asgardians where basically different Celestial creations in the comics and with the recent introduction of Celestials - Eternals i think Marvel will also eventually bridge the gap with Celestials - Asgardians as well.

I really love the new suit and the more i look at it the more i love the design and coloring. While the color are definitely taken from classic Thor, the design itself is very different than what we have seen in the comics throughout the years. If anything i see a King Thor/Rune King Thor resemblance. I see a power up incoming.
