No Way Home No Way Home Rumors, Leaks And Speculation Thread (Potential Spoilers Ahead)

I just want to point out in regards to prior discussions on marketing including Tobey or Andrew....Ghostbusters: Afterlife just put out a 2nd trailer,
which while you don't see Ray's face you can hear his voice as the trailer ending tease. So yeah....Ghostbusters is also using the past characters to sell the new movie.

Just saying :o

Not been part of this conversation really, but I gotta say Venom/Carnage seems to have very limited marketing as well.

I only heard about/saw the trailer last week and still havent seen it before films at the theater. Also the posters at the theater are limited compared to normal Marvel flicks.

Sony may be working with limited marketing budgets or trying a new strategy.

Sony has always been stingy on marketing materials, even before the pandemic. For a small exhibitor like the one I work at, they only send us one or two copies of the main poster for big titles like FFH or Bad Boys 4 Life. I don’t think they even sent us a physical Venom poster in 2018 but they did for Carnage.

Disney isn’t much better, apart from the MCU posters.

I was just gonna mention the same thing. That Afterlife trailer is very telling on what to expect when the NWH trailer eventually gets released. We'll only likely get a very small tease of Tobey and Andrew, if that.

That is not a great example, they were fairly restraint with that trailer.

Considering how there is talk like Sony would desperately throw everything at all the wall to get a high box office. they didn't even show Dan Aykroyd Face. let alone any of the others. the trailer used nostalgia, but man they were fairly restraint.

Why? You have been heralding this movie as an example of not showing the original cast as a selling point...and they just did exactly that. That makes it a PERFECT example. Unless you want to keep moving the goal posts

No my point was that the original cast were not used in the teaser, i actually thought they were gonna be used in the 2nd trailer. but they were not. i was kinda surprised about that. sure Aykroyd's voice is heard briefly and you have Annie potts there... but considering how the last Ghostbusters went down. they must have alot of faith in this movie to be able to just tease but not show.

Using the voice counts as being in the trailer. Its not like I now have to see the movie to find out that character is in the movie. The trailer just explicitly showed that they are.

But lets be honest, this isn't the type of thing you would expect from NWH? you would expect more right?

The only thing I would expect different is an actual shot of them in the trailer at the very end. But having a trailer mainly about the rest of the movie with them being the tag at the end of it....that seems like a way I could easily see it playing out. Just with an added shot of them on top.

I'm not getting my hopes up that we'll see Tobey and Andrew in the first footage. But I've also been trying to keep my expectations in check about them appearing in this film at all. Still, something like Holland's Parker running out of web fluid and getting caught by another web seems likely to me as a teaser.

Thats where im at. The whole internet is chomping at the bit to see this trailer but i feel it may disappoint a lot. I dont think theyre gonna bring out the big guns everyones waiting for in the first look.

First trailer sets the stage for the story— maybe we get stinger showing Molina at the end. Second trailer is gonna be the money shot trailer that shows alot of the goods.

I think they will count on Hollands Spider-man and Dr Strange being the selling point for the teaser.

They won’t most likely won’t show Tobey and Andrew in the first trailer but if they did the Internet will blow up. I actually think it’d be smarter to let the cat out of the bag and show them in the teaser trailer. I think you’d want to let the selling point of the movie be known with the first footage instead of saving it for the final trailer. Plus, it’s better for the Spider-Men deniers to be proven wrong sooner rather than later. :o

Refraining from disagreeing with GuestStar's viewpoints for the gazillionth time (shocking, I know :hehe:), I will say that the later the trailer comes out, the less of a "teaser" it will be.

I think there should be a separate trailer thread because somehow every discussion here turns into a debate around the trailer, when it's coming, what they'll show etc.

It's like running in circles here.

I think we will DEFINITELY see Molina or Dafoe though. I can easily see them popping at the end of the trailer as a stinger. Dafoe cheesing at the camera in a super creepy way saying something cheeky like, “GUESS WHOS BACK?!” That’d be enough to throw the internet in a tizzy.

Then trailer #2 ends with Tobey and Andrew popping up to save Holland from the Sinister Sic saying, “Hey kid…need some help?” And that will blow up social media entirely.

That will change when we have something concrete to discuss. Right now, there just isn't news and people are passing time

To be fair, peeps here have exhausted every single topic of conversation with what little we've been given for nearly a year now (sans the potential accurate leak here and there). There's nothing new to talk about, so some discussions are bound to repeat themselves.

I wouldn't say that. id say that just means less time between the teaser and official trailer.

Either way, i imagine there will be 2 trailers.

I wonder how the studio felt after Alfred Molina revealed that he is involved. I don't think he was allowed to say anything. Would have been awesome to see the trailer without knowing much. It will be interesting too see reactions if the trailer has no mention of multiverse and it looks like a normal MCU Spider-Man movie. :D

It would be a massive misfire if they concealed everything multiverse related in the trailer. They might hold off on showing you-know-who, but the rest I just don't see being realistically feasible.
