The All Things Flash Thread. - Part 2

So I guess those alleged leaks turned out to be total BS after all. Supposedly Affleck was only going to have a minor role but as Bruce Wayne only, NOT Batman

I just hope this won’t be the last time we see BatFleck

I hope we see more of him too, but I won't hold my breath. I won't even dare expect him to have a meaty role in the film. What we're seeing may be a very brief action sequence that opens the film. Barry comes to see Bruce while Bruce is in the middle of some crime fighting, zips in and catches the crooks for Bruce, and then they go back to the cave and talk. This is what I'm setting my expectations for.

Given Ben's turbulent personal life and how hard it is to handle the costume (I can imagine while in it all he wants is a drink), I can't believe these days that there's a real chance to expect much from him at all going forward. I fully expect (for now) that in this film, he's only going to have a very brief moment in the suit with the rest of the shots being stuntmen, saves him the trouble.

Would love to be wrong. Would love to see him meet Keaton... but unlike some folks out in the interwebs, I'm not blinding myself with fantasy without more evidence.

Well I just hope Affleck gets to go out the way he wants in this movie. There were lot of expectations for his Batman over the years that unfortunately never came to fruition, so hopefully he at least gets a proper ending.

Yeah, not expecting lots of Batfleck here, but who knows it's reception may open the possibility of a HBO Max series, or maybe a movie. Who said we're getting SnyderCut of JL? Or Keaton would be returning as Batman? J.J. Simmons and Molina again in Spidey universe? Everything is possible now.

Batfleck might be in more than we think, but likely Ben won't be.

Glasgow has such a great look for Gotham City, at least for the old part of Gotham City with gothic architecture.

It's also doubling for three movies!

Indiana Jones- New York 1969

The Batman- Gotham

The Flash- Gotham

Very Batman: Curse of the White Knight vibe

It would be a waste to have them at the same movie and not share even some seconds!
Imagine if Luke, Han and Leia didn't get together in the new SW trilogy... oh wait.

That really did annoy me. The last chance for the OG crew to have one last big triumphant hurrah together on the big screen, and it was wasted on the subversive genius of the sequel trilogy. :applaud:doh:

But maybe Affleck doesn't want that. SnyderCult's always talking about Batfleck solo movie or miniseries or something and that Reeves stole it from him but they never ask if Affleck even wants to play Batman again after The Flashpoint.

I think we'll see Batfleck at the start of the movie, in this big action sequence to establish that he's the Batman of Barry's universe. They'll probably then go to the batcave and discuss their trauma and how they wish to change the pass, leading to, well, the Flashpoint.
I don't think Batfleck will be traveling through the multiverse with Barry, we'll probably have a scene to show what he's doing at the same time, maybe understanding what Barry is doing and wondering how to help him get back.
And finally, I guess he'll be back at the end of the movie, either to sacrifice himself in order to "save the day" or simply in an epilogue (still don't buy Keaton will be the new Batman in the new DCEU timeline), in the same fashion than the comics even if the whole Thomas plot is vanished.
So yeah, I expect Batfleck to be present in 4 or 5 scenes at most.

Maybe he owns the company? It'd be awesomely surprising if Maxie Zeus turned out to be the villain (or at least a major villain) of this movie. I have a fondness for the absurdity of that particular villain. So silly and ridiculous a villain, you could almost be forgiven for thinking he'd originated alongside the likes of King Tut and Egghead in the sixties series.

Pretty sure he lost the passion he had before the poor reception of both BvS and JL... but, things change. He's in a better health now, with J-lo, SnyderCut had good reception, who knows...

Ben Affleck said that he enjoyed working on both BvS and JL (Snyder) very much, It wasn't until he started working with Whedon that he lost his enthusiasm for the role.

If they leave the fate of Batfleck (the character) open ended in the movie, then he can return again in some movie in future or maybe they will just recast and move on.
