What Is The Last Comic You've Read - Part 4

I have read those too. Not impressed, art is a bit of disappointment and I don't think it feels like a proper sequel to B89.

King Shark 1-4.
I’ve met Tim Seeley. What a great guy. I really want to like this story as I like King Shark and I like Defacer…but it’s just not that good. Having King Shark being triggered by the singing of Baby Shark is just cringe.

Monstress

Set in an alternate matriarchal 1900's Asia, in a richly imagined world of art deco-inflected steam punk, MONSTRESS tells the story of a teenage girl who is struggling to survive the trauma of war, and who shares a mysterious psychic link with a monster of tremendous power, a connection that will transform them both and make them the target of both human and otherworldly powers. Collects MONSTRESS #1-6

I thoroughly enjoyed this first trade paperback. It's a violent and grim tale of survival in a shattered world - very dense worldbuilding, backstories, memorable characters, horror/Lovecraftian elements, good action scenes and art - but since it's still going on-going all these years later for some reason we'll just have to see if that opinion can last or if it runs out of steam or goes in bad direction.
