X-Men - Part 8

X of Swords is probably a good point to jump to the individual series.
I'll keep that in mind. In fairness though, keeping up with these DoX (and RoX) trades means I won't have to wait as long for new material, once I am caught up that is.
Though I wonder how long they plan to keep these trades going for.

We will see what happens after the line is tweaked after the Wolverine event.

Yeah, then there' also the fact that Hickman has/is left/leaving, that might change things up a bit?

I mean, thats the reason for the shakeup. Pretty certain Hellions isn't coming back, but at least got confirmation Spurrier is coming back with a new book. We will see about the rest.

Well, Jan solicits shows we aren't just getting the Wolverine event. New Mutants will start its new arc. I think I am actually going to pick up the Marauders Annual. I would like to follow Kwannon, plus I am very, very curious what using the Theatre of Pain means for the rest of 2099 content.

God, I love Inferno #2.

Just that little bit between Destiny and Mystique. Raven coming face to face with all the amazingly ****ty things she had done since Irene died. And that is what breaks through to Raven, causing her to breakdown. It is such a small part of the book, but I found to be amazing, and such a great character moment for Mystique, Not so much as a redemption, but as a step to moving away from her traditional "Mystique is gong to **** this group up somehow" role. Also, finally being allowed to show Raven and Irene as actually together is very good.

Also, Emma's reaction is perfect. **** the old men. Yeah, Charles and Erik are going to be getting a ton of comeuppance in this series. And by god, do I look forward to it.

I also gather I missed something from X-Force with Colossus, as he finishes up the Council roster.

Okay the new council member is uneXpected. I definitely thought it was another villain. Its fitting especially sitting neXt to Nightcrawler and Storm.

So, looks like we are getting a one shot in Feb featuring a team of all the X-men in the poll who didn't make it onto the new X-men team. Sounds fun.

Does that count as official "X-Men" or just a team for 1 issue in a comic titled as "Secret X-Men".

Long time we didnt see all x-men together in a team, since Utopia era, at least in final battle againt sentinel squad ONE.
Spliting them into several teams .... Betsy, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee in Excalibur, Kitty, Iceman, Storm, Emma in Marauders, Colossus, Beast, Wolverine in X-force with some updates throught publications,
there are too many teams. Better is to unit all main x-men in a unique group, others less importants characters in sub-group or fractions

Rather than The Fall of X or such an equivalent we're getting Destiny of X next. :)

I see, the ____ of X lives on.
I know I've spoken out against naming before, though that was more about the comic titles, and not the era titles, but Destiny of X is actually one that I really like.

Edit: Horrible typo

Some good moments in Trial of Magneto, but as a whole, it's incredibly messy. Ayala's New Mutants continues to be one of the biggest surprised of RoX for me. S.W.O.R.D. and the Flagship title are still pretty solid and I'm glad Excalibur is finally starting to use some of the new XoS stuff in Otherworld. Though I'm still wondering why that took so long.

X-Force and Marauders are due for a reboot though. Wouldn't mind a new Excalibur either. I guess they're already doing this for Marauders with Steve Orlando though.

A look at the Destiny of X titles. We knew Legion of X, which is likely the retitled Legionnaires book. X-Force is sticking around. Immortal X-men, Knights of X, and X-men Red are the new books. I imagine Knights of X may be a revamped Excalibur? I hope, because I want Betsy to still be around.

Curious about the new (and reworked) books, but also really sad to see S.W.O.R.D. go. It had some of the best Reign of X content.

Once again, its too many titles for my liking.

I'd read Immortal/Red if it features an actual X-Men team.

I'd read Knights/Legion if its like an event like House of X, Swords of X, Power of X and Inferno of X.

I'm surprised X-Force and Marauders are still continuing, the sales might be good.

Who is the mutant neXt to Captain Britain with the glowing eyes and cheXt?

I wonder if they completely spoiled the roster for those titles. I don't see Polaris, Rogue, Jubilee, Angel, M and Sunfire. And Emma is back on her early 2000s costume.

I suspect SWORD is getting retitled. It would be a real pity to take Storm away from Ewing.

Yes it would be! I'm sort of hoping that X-Men Red is a planet Arakko (the red planet) book. That'd be perfect for Ewing. Though Immortal X-Men also sounds like a fitting title for him. Fingers crossed!

It's Somnus (Carl Valentino) co-created by Steve Orlando for Marvel's Voices: Pride. Not sure why he looks so much like Nightcrawler here.

He is a mutant from some time ago, who died, and has now been resurrected as part of the X-Men's Krakoan protocols courtesy of The Five. A mutant who had an extraordinary impact on an X-Man long ago, Somnus' powers give him total control of people's dreams, but he was never able to follow his own. Now, Somnus is given a second chance at life, and he's determined to make the most out of it on the thriving mutant nation of Krakoa!

Oh okay, I've noticed him from covers. I just didn't know his name. Hopefully Marvel ComiX can make him a breakout mutant star. We haven't had one in a long time.

So Immortal X-Men is about the Quiet Council.... why didn't they just call it Council of X. Most of the mutants are immortal now anyway because of the resurrection protocol. The title doesn't sound fitting.
