Gotham Knights

As I said in FanDome thread, officially a lot more pumped for this game now.

So game was supposed to be a 2021 game got delayed to 2022 and now today we get a new trailer. The trailer looks good but no like release date or like window like quarter 1, quarter 2, spring etc. What a kick in the balls.

At this point, I don't care if they delay it until 2023, just make sure the damn thing is finished so it doesn't follow this recent trend of games that are released too soon with the first week/month of the game's release being grovelling apologies from the developers for a mountain of problems people are having.

I hate myself for this, but it really doesnt do a lot for me that Trailer.
Cool design, the whole Visual aspect of this Game is pretty neat...but i dont know, something about this Trailer doesnt work.

I cant really put my finger on it, but it really doesnt hype me.
The Writing and Voice for Penguin feels off, the whole Vibe isnt where it needs to be.
And i hate it, because here we get a game with the core Batfamily members, with the court of owls...and yet im not feeling it.
I hope the next trailers, especially gameplay can convince me because i want this to take off...i want the batfamily to get their spotlight.

Looks cool but I’m a bit iffy on the Robin and Batgirl designs. Is Robin wearing a pullover sweatshirt? I’m not sure but it looks weird. And Batgirl looks okay but her design seems off with the aesthetic they’re going for. Like, Nightwing and Red Hood are in tactical gear, and then here’s Batgirl in a 1960s Halloween costume.

I'd agree, I'm not super fond of them, but once they revealed you get to custom-pick your batsuit as you go, I got over it. I'll change them as soon as I have something better.

I...Actually want that.

Ah okay; that’s good.

Oh yeah, i forgot about the Customization part.
Yeah, their original designs arent the strongest...but that Customization feature be really cool.

I think the reason why is the trailer puts off like they're trying to be like this adjacent loose sequel to Arkham Knight, but it's not actually directly connected to Arkham Knight.

Havent thought about that, but yeah that could be a problem.
You have this basic plotline and all that looks like it could be a Sequel, but it isnt.

You have such a visual different style and feel, while having storywise something that feels very much like its the Sequel to Knight.
Bruce dead, Gordon dead...someone who doesnt pay too much attention could think this is a Sequel.

Sorry, how do we know it’s not a sequel to Arkham Knight? I just assumed it was.

(I haven’t played AK the whole way through, but feel free to spoil away if there’s something in it that leads people to think this game is unrelated).

They stated it was a different universe when they first revealed it.

Oh I thought it was. Considering Bruce is supposed to be gone/dead.

Besides the statement, Gordon's death seems to have occurred definitively before Bruce's totally real, definitely not a fakeout death that kicks off the events of the game as Bruce says "[the GCPD] haven't trusted us since Jim died." This wouldn't make a whole lot of sense if it were to be in the Arkhamverse.

So they took the ending of Arkham Knight and decided to proceed with the aftermath but with no actual continuity other than that. Makes much sense.
