should they make Doom's eyes visible when he has his mask on or do the Iron Man thing and have his eyes either light up or completely black. If they need him to show emotion then he can take his mask off. Its a shame we will never see an Iron Man vs Doom scene in the MCU

With Kang front and center, with Namor heavily rumored to be in Black Panther 2, it seems like Doom is getting pushed further and further away...are they really going to make us wait until the F4 movie in 2023 to get our first hint of anything Doom/Latveria related? I guess I am not supposed to question Feige and crews larger plan but I guess if I was in charge, Doom as soon as I was able to use those rights, would be given a hint, an appearance, Latveria mention, SOMETHING by now. Just my 2 cents...

I’m hoping they’ll introduce Reed and Doom together, ideally in college. But since that might be difficult to work into a story, I’d be okay if they’re working on a project together instead of being in college.

For example, they could both be in Wakanda working on some high-tech project and we could see Doom attempting to modify the equipment to contact his dead mother. Boom, there’s an explosion and he disappears.

i would prefer they dont reveal anything related to doom or latveria in a cheap cheesy way. they can do the character justice by revealing him the way they did thanos - after credits scene is fitting i think that mentions latveria rising or something

There better be some retcons where Doombots were observing many of the pivotal battles we've seen in the MCU so far.

I wouldn’t mind a Doom movie, but I feel he’d be better served as a mini-series where you have more time to explore the character in depth than a two hour movie. Even if Doom gets a solo movie, I definitely want it after the F4 have been established in the MCU.

You know, this reminds me of my continued bafflement at how no one seems to have tried to riff off the success of RDJ as Iron Man. "Like Iron Man But Evil" should have been the easiest sales pitch for either Dr Doom or Lex Luther. And yet. . . not, despite there being movies made post Iron Man involving both Dr Doom and Lex Luther.

They were too busy turning Doom into the villain from the Howard the Duck movie.

Nah, he was a less interesting come of Norman from SM1. Even down to him getting fired by the board of directors

Yes, but Downey likely would’ve done a better job than Julian McMahon as he likely would’ve been able to improve upon the weak script with his ad-libs or improv.

But it still would have been the same movie, lol

Okay, I give up. What is SM1? And who is Norman?

Norman Osborne Spider Man 1.

an evil RDJ is like someone handsome and charismatic and has dark humour. All i can think of is the guy that played Negan

Norman Osborne Spider Man 1
Thanks. I could see some resemblance, but Osborne was better done that Doom IMO. Two different characters. Osborne makes a better Osborne than a Doom.

Negan? Jeffrey Dean Morgan? The Comedian? As Doom? Not sure I can picture it, but I respect the actor a lot so I'm sure he'd be capable. Could do a lot worse. The Walking Dead is ending, so maybe he needs a new gig. I could see Doom as a mix between him and Bela Lugosi lol, except they don't make Bela Lugosis anymore.

Some have suggested, and I agree, that BvS would have been much improved if Snyder dumped the "B" - or restricted him to a cameo - and had Ben Affleck portray Luthor. You could have given him Batman's story without changing very much. And at the very least it would have been more palatable seeing Lex poison, torture, taunt and nearly murder-stab Superman in his mecha-suit than it was seeing Batman do it.

Frank Langella who played Skeletor would have been a perfect Doom

Indeed. And you'd think "Lex Luther, Sympathetic Anti-Villain" would have the average Hollywood type slobbering at the prospects, in this age of Villain Protagonist TV. Sure, someone whose followed comics and comics adaptations would know that "Lex Luther is the real hero" is an overdone and borderline offensive cliche, but not the average movie viewer. "This movie makes me uncomfortably sympathetic towards Lex Luther before pulling out the rug" could have been a Fight Club level cruel dramatic sucker punch.

Instead, we got. . . what we got.

I'm still annoyed they wasted Mads Mikkelsen in Doctor Strange when he 100% would be the perfect Doctor Doom. Thank god for the recent trend of double casting, I guess.

EDIT: I just read Mads once auditioned to play Mr Fantastic and failed spectacularly... I mean if that's not a Dr Doom origin story, I don't know what is?

I hear Kevin Feige is getting increasingly woke, so maybe they will cast Doctor Doom as a woman.
