Justice League Zack Snyder Directing Justice League (The Snyder Cut Edition) - Part 2

Snyder needed to get from Man of Steel to Justice League in two movies. Thats a gargantuan task to fulfill and keep the movies within a 2 hr time frame.

I've said before you could have done this in 4 movie lead up with World's Finest, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman and then JL introducing Cyborg. Of course, you have Warner Brothers needing to release a Superman movie by 2013 to maintain rights to the IP. Not sure if a World's Finest would constitute as a "Superman" movie.

I'd be curious to see Snyder's 2 hour Justice League just to see how what he would've cut and trimmed out.

There is certainly a tone and style to WB/DC films that should be embraced by the studio. It's what makes their DC content so unique and grand. Look at the TDK trilogy, The Batman, Joker, heck I didn't like Aquaman all that much but it was such a uniquely vibrant movie that it belongs in the conversation too. It's a shame they haven't yet realized it for their overall DCEU as a whole. Who knows if that'll ever happen, but I think ZSJL and his movies were a step in the right direction.

I wish WB would’ve had started their cinematic universe in 2005 , with Batman Begins, Superman Returns, Whedon’s Wonder Woman, and Goyer’s Flash. Oh what could have been…

As a big fan of TDK trilogy, I'd like this too. It would be cool to see how JL would fit Nolanverse, althrough the realistc approach I think it could work.

Watched the JLSC again tonight but this time in 4K, Man it looked glorious and this is such a superior version to the TC. Everything just clicks in Snyders version and the return of Superman has such a better build up and emotional pay off.

Would have loved to see the full 5 movie arc completed.

Me too man. I believe there’s still a slim chance

I don't want to put my hope in something so unlikely so like the release of the Snyder Cut I will just sit back and see what happens. JL is so epic though and embraces the comics book world totally which I love, and the sequels just sound even zanier.

I want Snyder to finish his story still, but the ending with the new Batman is genuinely awful

I think it should just end here and let another director/visionary pick up the ball and take it in a new direction. ZSJL felt like a very satisfying cap on the story for me. Yeah theres unresolved stuff with Darkseid, and the Knightmare timeline etc but but tbh just SEEING and hearing Darkseid for the first time in live action scratched that itch for me.

Zack got to end on a high note. I think it's best to leave it there. I'd love to see the world he built continue on with different writing and directing talent though.

I'm perfectly happy with ZSJL being the end: has a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, while also giving a "the adventure continues".

This is petty but it’s nice to see ZSJL get a fresh RT score while Marvel gets their first rotten. It must feel very validating for Zack.

Yet in Metacritic things are different, as the Snyder Cut only has a 54 metascore, which is not far from the Eternals' 52. Still resonated better with fans, though.

I don’t think I’ve visited their site in the last decade and they haven’t entered the zeitgeist like RT has

I find it far more reliable personally. I never cared for the yes/no mentality, so even in Rotten Tomatoes I always check for average ratings too, which I find more important.

Yeah, MCU only had 25 positively reviewed films, 10 of which scored more than 90%, one of which was nominated for a best pic Oscar and another was (temporarily) the highest grossing movie of all time!
Zack Snyder on the other hand made 3 DC movies, MOS divided EVERYONE (critics, fans, audience) and underperformed commercially despite a massive opening (thanks to Superman's brand strength). Then there was the classic BvS, savaged by critics and fans, and holds the dubious record of having the lowest multiplier for any movie to open at 100mill + in hollywood history!!!
Zack's only positively reviewed movie was an over indulgent straight to streaming film, that had the advantage of being compared to a so called "inferior" version (70% of that version is actually Snyder's not Whedon's) but still reportedly under performed for it's streaming service at the end.

Conclusion: I'm sure Feige is on the phone right now trying to get advice from Snyder on how to make a successful superhero franchise!
