Switch The Official Nintendo Switch Thread - Part 2

Like all games, except GOG ones.

At least with a game that "only" has DRM, you are only dependent on server validation at worst. You still have all the necessary software, it just becomes a matter of whether someone can remove the validation check. And someone will *always* eventually be able to remove the validation check ( IIRC this is even one of the legal exceptions to the DMCA ).

A cloud game? The server goes away and you have nothing whatsoever.

$50 a year isn't too bad, though not worth it to me. Including DLC from games is a smart move.

That's quite the price increase...

That Genesis controller though. Hnnngh.

Yeah, too rich for me to do on a whim. I'll revisit after the library expands. At the very least I want either Paper Mario or Ogre Battle 64 if I'm going to be paying an extra 30 for the year.

Now if they included the Smash DLC... :o

I feel like $50 for a year's subscription is fair. Especially since Nintendo 64 games cost about that much or more per game when they were first released. Goldeneye would really sweeten the deal though. I hope that Nintendo can work their magic wrangling out the rights issues with that one.

The problem is: Goldeneye is censored in a few countries (including mine)

[shoves Other M back into the closet....]

And thus, why I am picking this up.
It's not as good as it could be... I played it and didn't like it as much as the other Fatal Frame games. :(

Has anyone given the Online Expansion Pack with the N64 and Sega games a shot yet? I'm just a little hesitant because I have my hands full with other games at the moment but I'm also seeing that the N64 games are more than a little glitchy.

Yeah I’m holding off until they fix the bugs too. I’m keen though

Apparently the fog effects on some games are reversed for some reason. Like it gets more opaque the closer you get instead.

So, update on this. I may have made a mistake here. Not because the game is necessarily bad. Sure, the controls are a bit wonky (why does it accelerate when I turn? Effin Tank controls). But, I am going to need a few days to recover from the first real chapter of the game.

Jesus...

Relay mode is really cool.

Oh snap I forgot these were a thing. Wasn't there supposed to be more character karts like Peach and Toad released?

as much as I wanna play those 64 and Sega games I do not want to pay almost 3 times more than I pay or regular Nintendo Online.

I never cared for the neon red/blue of my joy cons if I had the choice at the time I would got the gray ones. When I had my last switch it came with the 'mario red' ones that I LOVED. Well the other day at my gamestop they had a pair of the red ones used for a low price and I asked what the trade was for them and it was almost the cost of the ones on the peg. So I went home and grabbed my neon ones and traded em in and for like 6 bucks and change now I have the ones I want and they look GOOD.
