Halo - The Live Action TV Series - By Steven Spielberg

This was the first episode that I kind of liked since the first one.

Well, that was a much better episode than last week's IMO. I wasn't sure about the romance between John and Makee at first, but I'm actually digging their relationship more than I thought I would so far.

Also, I really enjoyed the bit where John was fighting the other Spartans. Johnathan Liebesman has a nice eye when it comes to the action sequences in this show, and I wish he got to direct more episodes.

There's barely any action at all in this show. It's a freaking Halo TV series.

Showtime/Paramount ain't got Amazon/Apple money. Average episode cost is already at 10 million dollars, it'd be well over the LOTR show. Plus, since it's obvious they have long term plans for this, you don't wanna blow you load on the first season by getting on the Halo ring and showing The Flood etc. It's better to milk it longer with careful world building.

Yeah, I was like "eeeeehhh, they're really doing this?" but towards the end I was more like "ooooh, now it makes sense..." In general, pretty much everything after that was really intense. Halsey is exactly as shrewd as in the games. They are doing her perfectly.

Better for what? Show quality? Even CW shows realize you have to do something every episode.

That last episode was pretty good, seeing what a glassed city looks like and the reaction to it was great.

Cortana grew into who she is in the games. Stoked.

It's a shame The Fall of Reach will probably be one episode long, it could easily be 2 episodes to give it the weight it deserves, but aside from Kwan Ha, this season has been decent and I hope the budget is upped and the writing tightened up for S2.

My mom, who absolutely knows NOTHING about Halo aside from buying it for my brother and I as kids, really likes the show lol

EDIT: just saw the promo. Unless they cram in Reach being glassed in the finale, it seems they're saving it?

Better for the overall story.

Its really not. Halo has many books and games and backstory and a war that lasts years. John's life lasts decades and there are multiple Halo rings. They could have hit the ground running, the Fall of Reach, and kept this show going for 10 seasons if they earned multiple seasons. Plus multiple seasons is not guaranteed especially when they make a boring show that deviates so far from the source material. They should have taken the show one season at a time and made each season fun and as interesting as possible.

Considering the track record of video game properties, it switching from Showtime and Paramount, and the fact that you have to get the GA on board, I think the show is doing decent enough.

Just finished my rewatch of this past episode and I definitely think it was better then last weeks. I actually liked the John and Makee romance and I think it works and makes sense in the show. Halsey is a cold piece of work but man is she interesting to watch. I thought the Spartans vs Chief fight was dope and loved Kai coming to the rescue as well as her having a good time with her fellow marine’s so she’s the mvp of the episode for me.

Seeing Jacob get more development is cool and I like that he’s struggling with his part in the Spartan program as well as him bonding with Miranda. Cortana slowly becoming the Cortana we know from the games is awesome and I like that John is slowly starting to Trust her. Yeah seeing the aftermath of the planet that got glasses was indeed tragic anyway overall a solid episode and great set up for the finale which looks pretty damn cool.

Great season finale. Great action and finally the Halo theme! I can see them finding the ring in season 2 and Chief being woken up from a pod aboard the Pillar Of Autumn, just like in the first game, when they've found the Halo.

Also, that temple is totally going to become a multiplayer map on Halo Infinite, if not by the devs, then by the time the Forge comes and players create it.

I know I complain often about poor CGI, but honestly I hadn't seen anything this bad in years. There were some really good moments in the series but the finale was abysmal on that aspect. And I wouldn't care that much if it had better script or acting or if I didn't know it was such an expensive production. I think I'll skip future seasons.

I wonder if they deemed this a success with viewership? The premiere did well but after that.

I know Season 2 was green lit while Season 1 was in production so that doesn’t really count, but I guess it’ll be telling if Season 3 gets one or not.

An entertaining and action-packed finale to an overall pretty solid show IMO. Sure, it was lacking in spots like in terms of pacing and some of the CGI effects not always looking the best, but I'm definitely invested in this world, and I'm also interested in seeing what happens to these characters next in Season 2.

Episodes had "top tier show" level numbers on torrent sites.

Also, much like with Wheel Of Time and Foundation, I've noticed that those not familiar with the books or games, seem to be liking the show more.

I just can't buy into Master Chief sleeping with Makee. It's ridiculous.
