She-Hulk Marvel Studios' She-Hulk General Discussion Thread

Speaking of CGI, I would not be entirely surprised if it's a complaint for the very first teaser for Guardians 3 and then James Gunn will say on Twitter something like its only the teaser and that the CGI will be fixed and a lot better when the movie is released. Out of all of the people involved in the MCU, he's most active on Twitter and will use it either confirm or deny stuff rumored about the Guardians and give us updates.

The CGI on her especially her face looks surprisingly rough in a lot of the shots… And only on her, Bruce looked fine to me. I guess it helps having been worked on in the movies. Apart from that, everything else looks great though. Really hoping the effects improve.

Come on people, do you seriously believe that in the next three months Marvel won't work its ass off to improve these sub-par CGI shots?
It was already known that they had a tough time rendering She-Hulk and that was the reason they were considering to move the release date to December, or even early 2023. Obviously they are confident now that they will finish their work in time.

As for me, I can't wait to see the horniest Marvel show ever.

Shows aren’t on at the same time but it’s a constant stream so now even a regular MCU viewer may start feeling like they are falling behind.
I would say on the series side, its definitely quantity over quality since Disney+ needs eXclusive content every now and then. This is going to be 8th Marvel scripted show since last year, and thats just a lot for the casual viewer.

The level of care for the shows isn't just not similar to the mcu movies and its becoming more evident. And we are just in year two of mcu shows... if production values look dodgy now, imagine the 20th to 30th Marvel Studios series.

Agreed with everyone here saying the CGI looks bad. It's not just this though, it was the same in Moon Knight. And even in Spider-Man No Way Home the Lizard didn't look great... so I don't think you can just use the excuse for it being a tv show. Hulk in the first Avengers movie looks better than this. Seems like Disney is getting lazy.

With how much of it they showed, it's unlikely that the CGI will improve much between now and when the show airs. Seems like Marvel is having problems with their vendors, or more likely they just have too much work, given the insane amount of projects. That said, the trailer itself looks like a lot of fun.

I think the CG looks pretty good *shrugs*. This is mo-cap and facial capture on TV, the fact that it looks as good as it does is crazy to me. I see people saying that She-Hulk should have been a movie but they literally can't do that because Universal still has distribution rights for any movie that has the word Hulk in it and they're not willing to work with Marvel because there's bad blood between Comcast and Disney.

Were there some dodgy CGI shots in that trailer? Yes. Did I enjoy the trailer and think the show looks fun. Yes to the yes!

Not true. She-Hulk belongs 100% to Marvel and they can do whatever they want with her.

But we are to the point where you dont need to watch every project to understand whats happening in the next movie. You can skip half of them right now

It's not just Marvel, everyone's behind on their cgi.
That's fair, there's just too many projects and VFX shots, to get any kind of quality guarantee in general right now. Disney has significantly upped the amount of VFX shots they require every single year with all of these additional shows and movies though.

I'm no CGI expert, but I imagine they already had loads of assets for Hulk ready to go from Endgame, while She-Hulk had to be made from the ground up for this show. So that might be why there's a disparity between the two?

I'm no expert either, but I am wondering if Ms. Maslany's relatively smooth facial features are more difficult to portray realistically than Hulk's hairy, wrinkled mug or Thanos's grooved face. Tatiana may look less Uncanny Vallley-ish after she sustains some battle damage.

Other than the CG looking blatantly obvious, I thought it was a VERY fun trailer. It's only a couple minutes but if the trailer is any indication, Tatiana Maslany's performance feels very natural, which I feel amongst the new actors, the only other who fit the MCU like a glove was Teyonah Parris.

I was thinking about that exact thing as well. We really haven't had a lot of female CG characters in movies, have we?

Yeah, she does feel natural for the MCU. I’m looking forward to seeing the relationship between her and Banner. Also looking forward to seeing Parris’ Rambeau interact with Carol and Kamala.

Needs more investment as it’s going to be a continuing yearly need across films and shows. This is what all those dollars banked from the biggest ever franchise can go to supporting.

Overall the trailer looked good but the CGI was awkward looking. I think they should leave the CGI heavy characters to the movies and let the shows focus more on the grounded characters (like TFATWS and Hawkeye).

you guys already said it the CGI is yikes but hope they can fix it
have they said anything about if they will recast the Ross character ?

Before WandaVision, the only other things I had seen Teyonah in was in Mad Men and Dear White People (the movie that also had Tessa Thompson). At least she's no longer known as "The Black Person from Mad Men" and now Monica Rambeau.
