CC vs Ads!

thanks for continuing to post these things yall so we can try to get the info into the right hands to fix these issues

I have the same issue.
Every single page I have to again confirm my choices with regards to storing data and sharing with partners. That means that if I want to read the last two pages of a thread in the Marvel films subformum I have to click twice to confirm on the main page, again twice when I go to the Marvel films subforum, again twice when I go to the thread and again twice when I go to the next page in the thread. And everytime I want to view an additional page of thread I have a minimum of two additional clicks before I can continue.
Would very much like to get rid of this.
Is it supposed to pop up on every page though? It remembers what I have (not) consented to previously, so surely it would not need to ask me to give up my personal data on every single subpage of the forum? I haven't seen data storage requests this intrusive on any other website. It's actually making the site near-unusable.
Yeah, I'm currently using Firefox with ABP as well, but I'm using an EU IP so that'll be it. It says it's from Admiral's privacy & consent manager that the site uses so maybe it could be checked with them if/how it can be made to ask this once per site visit or something like that instead of on every page? Because I don't think it's supposed to work like this.
This is still happening on every single page a year on. I've kind started to kind of getting used to having to go through several clicks to look at the purposes and partners and then again clicking "save and exit" on every single page load on the forum but it's obviously still incredibly annoying.

Now I accidentally misclicked one time to accept some of the advertising partners instead of just exiting the prompt and for whatever reason now it remembers that I consented to those, but it no longer remembers when I withdraw consent. Which means that for every single page load on the forum I now have to manually revoke consent for those again as it's not remembering my changes anymore. Honestly at this point it just seems predatory...

If nothing can be done about it from the SHH side, I guess my only options left will be to either give in and just accept that they'll track me anyway regardless of how much I attempt not to consent to it or otherwise just leave the website...

do you have any screenshots you could provide?

I still see this for every single page load on the website and have to do multiple clicks to see any page. When this first started happening just over a year ago I had to manually revoke consent for loads of "partners" one by one. Luckily after that it at least saved those settings so that after that I "only" had to do 2 or 3 additional clicks every time I want to view a new page (which of course still is very annoying and time consuming). That is still the case now, however due to having to navigate this dozens of times every time I visit the website for over a year, I've misclicked once or twice to consent to Arbigo and Facebook getting access to my data instead of clicking "save & exit". But now it's no longer actually saving my preferences when I turn those off and instead keeps them set to me consenting no matter how often I try to revoke that consent. Meaning Facebook might get to track me even if I explicitly click to revoke that consent many times, every single day.

Actually I think I may have just finally figured out how to block it on Firefox using an adblocker to specifically block every element of the privacy settings pop-up and the overlay (wish I had figured that out sooner). That means that the issue with having to manually close it on every page should be resolved.

Only issue is now that it'll still have me tracked by Facebook and I still can't turn that off. I'll see if I can fix that by getting rid of cookies and cache and stuff for this website. Hopefully that works and it won't permanently turn on all tracking or something like that...

If you still want to look into it further (because it's still not supposed to work this way and may be an issue for other users or a deterrent for new users to come in), I'll still answer your questions.
I was using Firefox and only use the site on PC, but I get the same thing in other browsers like Chrome and Edge, both on PC and mobile. This is an issue specific to people in the EU, I think.

EDIT: Clearing cookies and cache does seem to have fixed the issue of the tracking consent staying on at all times.

I'm getting this now too. I think it's a forum software issue since I'm getting it on HFBoards as well and they use the same software there, though possibly a newer one.

are you overseas? if i recall, i think someone in tech support said that it was something that non-US users was experiencing. I'll see if i can find the notes

Yes, I am in Finland. Also noticed this seems to be a Chrome issue. I'm not seeing the messages on Edge and I have and ad-blocker on that too. Edit: scratch that, just got one there too...

Every single time I click on a link on this site, I am asked if I want to disable my adblocker. Every. Single. Time.

If I wanted to see ads I wouldn't have a bloody adblocker installed!
I expect the occasional reminder, but each time I click a link? Come on...

I've been getting the same thing, too, for a while.

are you both in Europe? it's been said that a lot of these things are coming from Europe IPs

I live in America. And I'm not sure, but I think RetrogradeOrbit lives in Great Britain somewhere.

I am in the UK...
Have found a solution though. No, I don't mean to living in the UK... :D

There is a web browser app named "Brave" available on the Google play store.
I have installed it onto my Samsung Galaxy tablet and it blocks all the crap on SHH, letting me simply get on with looking at the content.

Highly recommend it thus far.

Anyone else experiencing a TLOU ad? It constantly pops up and it's always difficult to get rid of it. I included a screenshot.

HELP! :woo:
