After having some time to digest the series:
Overall, I think the show has its flaws, but found its footing by episode 3. I think the Reva/Third Sister material was iffy on the whole. Like I get what they were doing with Reva, but it doesn't a good parallel and compliment to the Kenobi/Vader story. I would've simply replaced Reva with Grand Inquisitor and just focus on the Kenobi/Vader conflict.
Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. For me this show hit better than the prequels, and many of the more recent Marvel Disney+ shows. My main quibbles:
* Rupert Friend/Grand Inquisitor was flabby and virtually useless in this series. In Rebels, the Grand Inquisitor was menacing, sinister, and a genuine threat. He's a complete pushover here.
* I'm willing to overlook it, but Leia and Kenobi having such a close bond and encounter like this didn't seem consistent with a New Hope. I'm willing overlook it because I found McGregor's performance and his bond with Leia so bittersweet, emotional, well-acted and genuinely touching.
* The young Leia stuff, especially when she's being chased was very awkward and goofy at first. It looked ridiculous.
* Sometimes the budget and visuals just weren't there, especially in the first half. There are still just some areas where streaming TV still can't look as big, grand, epic, or wide in scope as a big-screen feature.
* The way the Path refugees escapes Vader and the Empire was a bit contrived. They had no hyperdrive fuel and were in a tiny ship with Vader on their heels.
What I really liked:
* I think once the show got going, this was Ewan McGregor's best work as the character. I think McGregor's EP influence was likely getting to talk about his own background and the memories and images he has of his biological family.
* We saw a full arc for Obi-Wan Kenobi. At the start, he's a broken, beaten, tired and depressed man. Eventually, he's able to find his strength again.
* Vader was intimidating and terrifying again. I think Vader was better executed here than in Rogue One. The way the subtely combined Hayden's performance with Anakin and sort of merged Anakin and Vader, similar to the way Rebels had before was incredibly well done.
* I was wondering how much Vader they would actually give us in the show, and we got a fair bit. It was all fairly well executed.
