The Mandalorian The Mandalorian: General Thread

Babu Frik is in S3.

I was really hoping season 3 would be like November or December this year instead of having to wait to early next year. The longer wait has already been hard with covid and also the fact we are getting another shows like first. We really need a trailer.

What's the arc now for Mando Now. Is he going to become the ruler of Mandalor uniting all the remaining clans ???

Thoughts from last years season end.
As far as who actually ends up with [the Darksaber]?
If Season 3 is the quest for Mandalor (to free or rule it?), I'm not really caught up with the cartoon cannon, Besides Bo, I think there is a Sabine character who has a claim to it, and even more factions out there, now including potentially the Armorer's clan, and "Vizla"? so there will likely be a fight.

I don't see Mando seeking to claim the throne, maybe helping free and/or unite his people seems more his drive, but not to claim power. That doesn't seem like him.

The only reason he ended up with the Darksaber was to save the Yoby, he had no interest in power, or what the sabre symbolized or represented.
Even tried to willingly surrender it to Bo.

He might inadvertently lead people into action for a greater good, but that's a different kind of power. I think he walks from the throne, and leaves the rule to Bo or that Sabine character from the cartoons, or to any others in the mythology, and lets them have at it.

Clinging to the Darksaber (and everything it "offers" ) might ultimately bring death, Mando likely sees it's time to let it go!
Bo might be in a rough spot, if she can't....

Something else other than a symbol, or a dogmatic "way" is going to have to unite them, or they will destroy each-other.
Mando likely helps them see (or remember) that, or leaves their fate to them.

Final trope is I imagine - (Red Harvest/Yojimbo/Fist Full)- Poisonville is "cleansed" it's own people left to rule themselves, he walks off into the sunset to continue his wandering - cue his badass theme music.:cwink:

I imagine his next "quest" to seek redemption, "at the living waters beneath the mines of Mandalor" he awakens (and rides) the supposed extinct last Mighty Mythosaur. Earning respect of all the clans, and likely a new pauldron signet.

As far a "ruling:" Mandalor, sneak trailer has since reinforced a possible ongoing antagonism with Bo Katan, yet also fighting along other Mando factions.
To what ends? Likely in uniting the clans in a common goal (vs. Thrawn?). And while I still see Djarin inspiring even leading others, I don't see him as a ruler.
He never seemed the type to seek power or a claim to a throne. Bo on the other hand.
Mando's journey has always seemed to simultaneously gain all the accouterments and ethos of a what he believes is (or should be) a Mandalorian, while simultaneously redefining them for himself, by his own choices. (particularly in defense of his adopted kid)

So I still think that while he will use it, he will ultimately forgo the Darksaber, (or by using it, inadvertently help redefine it's purpose, symbolism, what it means to wield it as a Mandalorian), yet for better or worse letting it go, and leaving theme to their own devices, fate and identity, as he continues on his journey to forge his own.:cwink:

I do believe I saw some Clan Wren colored armors. Nice. Really nice to actually see colorful mandos finally.

I love that Bo's throne room feels like it is copied from TCW's big Mando throne room.
