I really hope Marvel uses TAS theme. It's a great theme that could be expanded upon, and developed with the X-Men over multiple films.

I also they keep the synth motif. Imagine if John (& Cody) Carpenter composed the score for Marvel's first X-Men film

They already have referenced it so I think you can be certain we'll be hearing it again. I just hope they do actually develop it further with some genuinely original parts because while its a cool fanfare and obviously nostalgic, it's not a piece of music that really has much of anything to say about the X-men.

maybe because Havok is the younger brother of Scott, so a real age difference would be appreciated.
So Cyclops could be as old as 35, and Havok could be as young as 18 in the films.... thats a bit eXtreme as Havok doesn't even look that young compare to Cyclops in the comics.

Also wouldn't that just be the reverse of the FoX movies, where we wound up with a 36-year-old Alex and an 18-year-old Scott? I'd rather have them be closer in age this time, like 2-4 years apart.

I really like what they did with it on Ms. Marvel

Reverse Fox might be a good strategy. :cwink:

But yeah, I want them to get the ages/age gaps closer to the comics this time.

Yeah if Cyclops is 29, say, I'd make Alex 27 or 26 at the youngest
Close enough to play up the sibling rivalry element and make it believable they took care of each other when their parents disappeared

Do you guys really think actors of 30 and 23 will look so much different on the big screen?
Hell no, lol. For example, put Taron Edgerton next to a 24 years old actor, and you wont guess the ages of both lol.

Honestly, this would work if you're gonna fully commit to the Harry Potter approach (esp with Beast in the Hagrid role). The question is, who's gonna be your Harry, Hermione and Ron?
Good question. I've got so many different versions of these movies in my head :funny:

I would say Havoc, Kitty/Jubilee and Idie as a core trio of kids. I get that Idie is an incredibly niche choice, but I've loved her ever since she first came on the screen. Her struggle with accepting her identity as a mutant makes her a great POV character. Plus her powers are just freaking awesome.

Add Quentin as a Draco-of-sorts, the schoolyard bully who, when it comes down to the line, realizes that his heart is in the right place after all. (And I loved him and Idie's relationship, wish they hadn't let that die off.)

I think it could work with blending in some of the Fox X-men movies theme into it.

God, I am going to miss the opening credits stuff.

the best option for Xavier for me would be Giancarlo Esposito i think it would give us a different version than the classic FOX Xavier version and it would be refreshing for him playing a good guy i honestly dont see another actor that would be good for Xavier like Esposito

I would be very sad if he didn’t get it. I would live of course and give the new guy a fair go but an Esposito Xavier would be a sight to behold.

hopefully they cast an Emma who can hold the screen next to him. And eventually a Magneto that does the same

I unironically love this :hrt: I especially love the idea of Alex being part of this core trio. There's a really good story here about him living in his brother's shadow & struggling to measure up to his greatness. And there's nothing wrong with bringing a lesser-known mutant like Oya to the big screen. The MCU has done it plenty with lesser-known and/or less popular characters, and teams.

See, what I think a lot people don't understand, is that it's less about who you put on that roster, and more about how you write them. Writing is paramount, it's what determines whether the characters-- their arcs, relationships, dynamics with each other, interactions with the narrative's themes -- are compelling enough for audiences to be, and remain engaged in the story.

Almost any team, any character, ANY concept, can be compelling with strong, well-rounded writing. Writing is what makes or breaks a movie's quality, not roster selection (or size).

Also, Quentin Quire is one of those characters I've been waiting to see done for a long time now. I think Kid Omega speaks to today's conversations about radical justice, and retributive politics.

Quire would represent the restlessness and impatience that a lot of young people (esp minorities) feel towards injustice & systems of oppression -- and how sometimes, in pursuit of change, people are pushed to more and more radical positions, until they lose their grip on morality, and become the enemy, to destroy the enemy.

I have a feeling that Kid Omega would have a lot of supporters, tho. :funny:

Yeah, I love Quentin for that. Because he really captures the essence of the Charles/Eric debate and highlights the fact that both of their methods are wrong and right at the same time. His propensity to act without thinking may often cause big problems for everyone involved, but he speaks to the necessary catalyst that is youth pushing forward when older generations and schools of thought have become so set in their ways that progress is impossible.

For sure. In many ways, Quire is an evolution of their ideals (Charles & Erik); a call back to young revolutionaries of old, like Fred Hampton and Che Guevara -- "The revolution will not be televised" type beat

He would reasonate with today's generation.

I would absolutely adore seeing the riot at Xavier’s storyline. It’s a great way to show off a variety of superpowers and done right could beat the soldiers invading Xavier’s mansion scene in x2

You were the one that posted this though
Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Gambit, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Angel: 25-35
Iceman, Havok, Polaris, Sunfire: 18-22

So Havok could be like a college freshman while Cyclops could be in his mid 30s... 17 year gap... unless they cast an actor that looked ten years younger than his age, okay maybe we wouldn't notice the age gap.

"Lol".
