Deadpool & Wolverine Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine!!!!

I personally hope that this version of Wolverine is a variant that has no ties or connection to any of Hugh's previous portrayals.

Well they just said in the video that Logan is set in 2029 blah blah blah, not touching that.

But let's be honest, how strong is the continuity of the Deadpool movies and the X-Men movies pre-MCU? The answer is not very to non-existent.

This is true, but Logan was still intended to be Jackmans swan song. Either way though, this is happening now regardless. What I'm curious about is what will Logan look like in this movie? will he have a full on costume that he almost wore in The Wolverine? Or the traditional stuff he wore in other films?

The Deadpool movies have always gone for more of a comic book sensibility than the main FOX X-Men movies (that's why Colossus and Juggernaut are 100% CGI creations), and if anything I think Kevin Feige wants to go further with that, so I am 98% expecting Logan to wear the yellow suit in the movie.

Yes, working with Ryan Reynolds is truly a daunting task for him. :o

Im not getting it, did Jackman said he hates doing Wolverine or so? Why are people constantly acting like the man is just back for the Money?
Isnt he doing for years jokes etc with Reynolds and stuff?

I remember when DOFP was coming out, they released a promo image of what looked like a more comic-accurate outfit for Wolverine. But I don't think whatever scene that was from was actually in the film or was ever even released. I couldn't find a version without a watermark:

But I definitely think something like this is what we can expect. With a brief bit where he has the helmet on.

Sure this Wolverine will be from another universe, like Xavier 'Patrick Stewart
We know Logan in Fox universe died in Logan (they all died in old timeline by Sentinels, they all died in new timeline in 2029)

Wolverine already exists in 616 MCU

A lot of things are intended to be this or that, until they aren't. It was also going to be the swan song of Patrick Stewart as Xavier, and look what happened there ;)

Looks very much like what he has in the movie except it's unzipped and it likely has the outer layer/armor removed, which has the yellow under armour spandex shirt underneath:

Interesting that he didn't decide to return until a month before the announcement.

I don't know why people are talking about the movie Logan. The 2017 movie has been aknowledged as being an alternate universe. This means that there's still a younger and not decrepit version of Wolverine inhabiting the mainstream Fox universe.

As simple as that, the fully functional Wolverine in Deadpool 3 will be the same version of the X-Men classic trilogy and Beginnings saga (except the movie Logan), or an interdimensional counterpart like Xavier in Dr. Strange 2.

Logan 2017 is an alternate universe.

Point by point:

1- The New Mutants is set in the mainstream X-Men universe. In the movie, Transigen-Alkali doesn't exist, Essex Corporation is definitely confirmed as the organization behind the Weapon X Program, and footage from Logan is rearranged to back-up a different event.

2- At the end of Dark Phoenix (1992), mutants are no more seen in a "friendly" way. I doubt that humans would issue comic books about them in the 2000s/2010s or so. Also, Old Man Logan seems to imply that "fantastic/fantasy adventures" (like events depicted in 'Apocalypse', 'Dark Phoenix' and so on) did not occur at all.

3- Old Man Logan killed the scientists in his version of the Weapon X Program. Our Logan never did that in Apocalypse; indeed he only slaughtered the soldiers.

4- There was no Transigen-Alkali in Apocalypse. The Weapon X Facility was owned by the Essex Corporation.

5- There was no adamantium bullet in Apocalypse. In the original timeline, the adamantium bullet had been already used anyway, and it wasn't available anymore.

6- There were mutant children at the school in the positive ending of DOFP (2023). This means that mutant births didn't stop in 2004, I mean in the mainstream X-Men universe. You can also spot Nate Grey among the children.

7- In DOFP, Phoenix is alive. In the deleted scene of Logan, Old Man Logan talks about killing Jean and his long time remorse. That said, I doubt that Phoenix wouldn't be able to stop Xavier from killing the X-Men.

8- They never talk about the time-travelling issue. Logan follows the original timeline (at least, a tweaked version/variant of it).

9- Caliban is totally different. He's another guy.

10- Old Man Logan is supposed to have been "masked and costumed" in his X-Man days, wearing the comic book costume.

11- Charles is 90 years old in Logan (2029). In the mainstream X-Men universe, he is born in 1932, not 1939. Maybe... (this is another story LOL).

12- At the end of Dark Phoenix, we see that Xavier's school was renamed after JEAN GREY.
In the positive ending of DOFP, they never mentioned the name of the school anyway, so that's still consistent with DP.

MARVEL officially listed the "Logan" universe as Earth-17315.

Logan 2017 invalidates all the X-Men movies. Mutants become extinct. The X-Men have lost. Xavier's dream is dead. It's the "worst" ending ever.
It's an alternate, What If-like universe.
Even MARVEL confirmed that.
The official ending of the X-Men movie saga is DOFP (2023).

X-Men movie continuity is messed up six ways to Sunday.

X-Men movie continuity is messed up six ways to Sunday.

Not quite much!

There are some inconsistencies, because First Class was originally intended as a "soft reboot".
Everything can be explained very easily anyway.

Summing it up:

1- Emma Silverfox is a clone of Emma Frost.
2- The final battle of X-Men Origins is set in 1983 (Scott is 18 years old).
3- In X1, Xavier lied about his first meeting with Erik. Cuba is a secret, and he must protect FC Moira MacTaggert (who doesn't have memories anymore).
4- TLS Moira MacTaggert is FC Moira MacTaggert's nephew.
5- Archangel (Apocalypse) is not Warren, but another Cheyarafim.
6- Movie Deadpool belongs to an alternate universe.
7- Xavier uses an improved serum to walk in the TLS prologue (set in 1980).
8- X1 is set in 1999, aprox. 15 years after X-Men Origins.
9- All mutants age slower and better than humans.
10- Magneto built the second Cerebro seen in the original trilogy.

Any question, I'm here.
